Thing is i don,t like abusing my K1. I don,t mind putting it on the rollers from time to time but 1/4 mile stuff just doesn,t float my boat. Good luck for the weekend Jonny.

Talking about potential, a stage2+ Revo'ed Cupra with CAI, Full Milltek exhaust, Uprated fuel pump, Forge DV can hit 400+ bhp and 520+ Nm of torque at boost setting 9 :D

I'm sure Blade's could hit those bhp levels if it could get traction (spinning the wheels even in 6th gear on the dyno).

with race fuel? Highly unlikely. You would not be able to advance the timing enough...

A couple months ago people were saying 360hp was the limit of the turbo

That might be do-able but only with race fuel, uprated manifolds, water/meth injection and a (very) optimistic rolling road.

Spinning the wheels on the dyno will give huge torque readings,

And there is nooo way a K04 will hit over 400hp..

Mine has everything you can possibly think of, in terms of bolt on parts to get the most out of the K04 and I would say that its making 360hp and 350+ft/lbs.. No more..

They really do go well with that power though, but 400hp is another thing all together. The S3 had 417hp on a dyno, and there is a huge difference between the ED30 and the S3 in terms of top end power..

The GTI is in fact faster, but thats down to weight and the DSG..

Agreed. The only provisio worth thinking about however is that there has not really been any work done on things like manifolds etc yet. Also, as far as I am aware, you dont have water/meth injection which might make some of a difference with timing wound on.

Ultimately though, it is pretty amazing that a stripped Ed30 DSG with 60bhp less than a 4 wheel drive S3 is pretty well as quick.

Not with the transmission loss from the 4WD in the S3 which probably accounts for 60bhp :)

Thats what I mean. There is a clip of Jonnys car racing a big turbo S3 at pod and there was very little to separate them. I am sure Jonny could post up the links.

I would also be interested to see the 1/4 mile time for it.

Given that your car made that time and ET through 888's lightweight wheels, the car being stripped of quite a bit of weight, and because it has the DSG box which shaves 0.4 seconds off the 1/4 mile, I would estimate Blades car to run 13.5-13.7 @ 110mph.

Edit:
Ben CTR manages 13.2 in his Stage 2 Edition 30 DSG, and a stage 2 Revo Leon Cupra (manual box) managed 13.6 last year.

recon would be very low 13's, i mean only got to look at my figures in siggy :D and thats with alot less power, ok weight may have a factor, but i was only on road tyres and no diff :cartman:

Weight has loads to do with it mate. And in the case of the Edition 30, DSG has loads to do with it too.

With regard to Ibiza's, CupraBaz's Ibiza with its K03s turbo turns out the same power as your car albeit with a bit less torque. He consistently managed around his record of 13.7 @ approx 107mph at Crail. I am a little surprised knowing his car, knowing how well stripped it is, and knowing how well he can drive it, that you have managed to shave 0.5 seconds from that time .

Back to our lardy Leons/Golfs/S3's, it is just not physically possible to change gears as quick as DSG does, and given that you need 3 changes on the 1/4 mile, DSG cars will always have quicker times as less time is lost to gear changing. Your Ibiza will probably only need 2 changes and that is a pretty decent advantage ;)

I guess the proof of how weight retards the progress of a car can be seen when you compare that your car with only 250bhp is only 0.2 secs slower over the 1/4 mile than a Golf with over 100bhp more although the extra power can be seen on the terminal speed where Jonnys car is a good 8mph ahead of yours despite the extra weight ;)

Comparing it again to something even lighter, my R1 managed the 1/4 mile in approx 10.6 seconds @ 135mph (as memory serves) despite me being a long and heavy lad. The R1 with the mods I have only has around 180-190bhp and the torque figure is low.

It will be interesting to see the 1/4 mile times pop up this year now that more Leons/Golfs/S3's are getting to the stage 2 / stage 2+ regions, but I still think that a time of 13.5 seconds will be about right unless the car is stripped down.

yeah i think alot of people were confused, i am on hybrid k03s though, with a bit of an unlucky dyno lottery i feel, as it feels much much quicker than k03s.
o i know weight has alot to do with it, everything was stripped from mine, only have dash, door cards and drivers seat in at the time :)
