Im thinkin about makin my 02 lcr in to a track car and was hopin u guys and girls could help me out with a few things. So far i have had it remapped stage 1 at 258 bhp, dv, induction kit, coilovers, antiroll bar upgraded not sure which one and porsche rim. unfortunatly the rims will have to be changed due to the tyres been stretched to much.Any advice on.
which type of brakes 2 get drilled or grooved
which pads r best for the track.
tyres Im think toyo r888
wheres best to get a fullcage from
A good set of lightweight 18' or 19' wheels
which exhaust system to go for and any other advise on engine or car set ups.
Ive read that any more then 300bhp is a waste on a front wheel drive so thats the kind of bhp am lookin 4. If funds allow or should i say the wife lol am hopin to have this done for easter next year for r trip to nurburgring.
If poss could u also put good company and prices if u know them. As i have been away from the scene for a while and last time i did my vw every one went to dubsport. cheers any advise is appreciated

i wouldnt waste your time and money on a FULL spec lcr track car, you will have more fun in something like a clio cup, and alot cheeper.

why do you need a cage??? are you going to competition it???? it will just add weight.

you should really do you homework on parts for a track car and know your stuff really,

id suggest just get your self some good tyres, brakes, fluid and start with that. unless you have deep pockets, ....... but if you did just buy a GT3 RS.

If you are looking to track the car regulary i would recommend 2 piece grooved discs/bells.These will handle the abuse much better and are lighter too, matched with ferodo ds2500 pads are the ones to go for in my opinion.Bill does a set or you can look at ap racing. They aint cheap though, you need to be thinking in the region of £600+, but this set up is definately a upgrade over stock set up.

the cage i was thinkin about gettin was going to be a bolt in one. I think its a good idea to have one cause if u lose it at the ring going through the forest or some where like thats. Cause its going to hurt. But this was going to be the last thing on the list.
thank for the advise on the brake will look into them. As for the gt3 not got that kind of money lol.
Last time we was at the ring one of us in a m3 was all over one.
The car will be used as a nice day/ track car.
your also right as i want to price it all up first cause it might be cheaper just to build or buy something else and keep leon as a daily drive.

my mate s on about gettin a vx220 turbo so carnt do that one.But have looked inta it. I would rather have a car that people underestimate. Im makin mine a trackday car sorry for the confussion.
I think i guna do car in stage cause funds wont allow for everything before easter. I should have about 3 maybe 4 grand to spend by then. first i will get a full system exhaust but i carnt decide weather to get blueflame or not. Then the brakes, pads and lines. new wheels andtyres then see how much is left.

Could you be swayed in the decision to change the exhaust first?
I've gone purely for handling mods first. This is one of the main weak points of the LCR for a track car. With 210 BHP used correctly it has the power to be competitive with faster cars but the handling lets the car down massively

Rear ARB...... vitally important if you've only upgraded the front.;)
