So today Danny asked me to help him strip the car as he was breaking it, got part way through and he changed his mind so we had to put it all back on again! But at the end of the day if it makes him see sense im happy to do it. In the process of doing this we solved the boost leak he had and the issues with his Walbro, although the only issue we have now is that the fans aren't kicking in when the temperature gets above 90 degrees. Danny's changed the original thermostat for a ECS one but it just isn't kicking in at all, ive checked the fuses and there all fine so it "should" work, but theres just nothing, does anyone have any ideas what this could be, or could it just be a dodgy thermostat?

Also the idle seems slightly lumpy but it isn't stalling and the revs aren't up and down, but if you do rev it up to say 5k it stalls, could this just be to with lack of fuelling due to it not being mapped as the AFR gauge was having a fit at times!

fuses on top of battery intact?
is the aux water pump running? (its on the same circuit I believe as fans when the fuse blows/melts)

If you have larger injectors & MAF housing, and std ecu, its not likely to idle cok on, but airleaks are something to look for also

............and I remain bemused to the change of directions.. it makes me dizzy :p

Cheers Bill will check the fuses again to make sure and we'll see if the secondary water pump works

Basically with the idle thats whats i was thinking, its probably nothing to worry about as its not been mapped yet. Next job to do is fix the fans and get Danny to focus on one job at a time, so we know where we're up to!

look at block 001 and look at the lambda correction.. if its clycleing to + or - 25% then its trying to move the fueling about more than it can. you would see block 032 adjust after its cycled a number of times..
you would aim to see this +/- 0 on block 001 as an indication than idle fueling is correct.

Im more then certain i heard the water pump working but il double check that one for sure...
Yeah I have revo stage 2 on 470cc Injectors & 3'' Maf so if it is that it would explain a few things when i rev it a tad to much as my AFR Does a hissy fit...

So 14 AFR on idle is Ok'ish So the lower the number the richer it is? and the higher the number the leaner ?

Ive got a question for everyone..

Ive got a ECS Theremastate fitted but when its sat at idle the fans don't kick in and the temp gauge goes past 90degrees...Any ideas what it could be?
Seems ive got all the air out in the system...

Next question is it idles fine but sounds slighlty lumpy is this normal?and when i rev it to 5kish and let it tale down to idle it will just stall and wont settle at 900rpm and it seems my AFR gauge read in 20s for a few seconds and then settles...

If i rev it to 5krpm and let it down slowly via the pedal it wont stall..

i know it sound stupid but have you checked the the control module on the n/s either its above or below the headlight for the fans
