That figures look good and no big rise and fall in BHP or Torque.
The before figure couldn't have been mapped figures as standard your car should have been producing 225BHP.
How long will it take for the ECU to adjust as I believe these figures will settle after a week or so?

well just recently, as well as the EGT sensor which is nakered and is going to be replaced Wednesday, my secondary water/coolant pump decided to pack up. I know it's worked in the passed so I thought i'd give all the connections a clean up and a spray with some electrical contact cleaner and a general clean up inside the pump to de-gunk it. Then I gave it a quick spray of WD40 and worked it round etc, put the top back on (which was so fiddly it was untrue, see the third pic, the 2 contacts in the centre had to be pulled apart to get back on the motor so i used string but still it wasn't that easy). Anyway, it came up a lot cleaner but STILL after that it doesn't work ...d'oh!!!! So i'm going to get hold of a multimeter to out rule out the feed to it then failing that, new pump time and more money out of the suspension pot :(

See the bronze coloured wire, these had the contacts on and were a nightmare, as i say i wrapped cotton around the wire to pull them apart but it was still fiddly, especially with WD40 covered hands :D

Anyway, even though the water/coolant pump was an epic fail, I did have some joy with my exhaust which i thought wasn't going to arrive until next week but i got it saturday, as you can see the old box was about ready for coming off and one of the hangers had gone......it felt only right to upgrade to a miltek (catback only i know but good enough for what i want )

New one, in case you have never seen a miltek :D

just found this thread Tim, read it all and it's a really good thread mate:clap: although you have managed to contradict yourself all the way through it...

"i'm not changing my exhaust" - Check
"not lowering it" - Check

the modding slope is a slippery one ay bud!;)

after seeing you car at awesome last weekend mate i can say it certainly doesnt look like its done nearly 50k. sounds ace aswell mate!

by the way ive had my car since 11k and 1st and sometimes reverse has always clunked a bit so wouldn't worry yourself;)

cheers wayne

it does come up quite well when it's been cleaned. I am on a slippery slope though as you say modding wise. I've just bought the next addition from Awesome and within the month or two i'll be doing something i was hoping to hold off doing for a while after some careless driving the other day, thats probably given it away :D

yeah it's just been niggly bits, the secondary waterpump, egt, wheel balancing issue to start and the overboost issue but with a bit of TLC and help things are starting to come good.

It ran at Awesome and showed it was still overboosting on the rollers but i took it back to P-Torque and with a few adjustments it certainly feels better, pulls better through the whole range rather than just lower down and now it spikes at 23ish and tails of to 18/19, much much happier with that :D

Just so everyone knows though it wasn't P-Torque that caused the issue, Will was kind enough to help us out.

will is ace when it comes to ironing things out!! on my tdi i had trouble with2 TD turbos and he busted his balls trying to help but the turbo cant be helped but will is great at his job!!

you cant, tease what have you done? wheel refurb on the cards?

i think i know what you bought from awesome, i'm well jelouse now:ban:

yeah you've hit the nail on the head with what your thinking and saying. Went round a corner and accidently blipped the throttle a bit too much a bit too close to the curb resulting in a sound that makes you shudder! :censored: only myself to blame

Great project thread, really enjoyable read.

Was the N75 valve faulty or not in the end?

the overboost issue was always a bit of a mystery tbh, we tried to rule our the N75 by changing it, I swapped with John's (cupraMVR) and it kept doing it however now the car has more of a custom map shall we say where Will has altered the settings between ECU,N75 & wastegate as well as the duty cycle, the boost as i say is spiking around 23 ish which i'm fine with. I don't know if the problem was a standard map issue then , i'm not sure unfortunately as i'm not clued up enough to confirm or as per what Jeff at Awesome said it could have been the EGT sensor which was changed the Wednesday prior to remapping it again but at the min' it's boosting fine, touch wood it stays that way.

next question then... what colour? or is that the suprise!?

It's pretty obvious really to everyone ain't it, I trying to be sly and it just isn't working! I'm rubbish  . Colour wise I'm not 100% decided yet tbh, it's not going to be anything out of the norm' though. Probably just jump on the anthracite/gloss black band wagon.

thought i'd just add the following to the thread, as i say the EGT sensor needing replacing and after a thread in the Leon MK1 section, a few guys wondered what this looked like. Heres the new one, probe end with the bolt is inserted next to the actuator whilst the sensor attaches under the inlet and the braided wire just pass through.

to get the old one out we decided to cut it as it was proving a biatch getting past certain obstacles, it's not clear from the pic but at this point it became apparent why the sensor wasn't working, one wire had already snapped!

Also, the boost gauge has been changed as the Halfords one was crap, not saying all are but mine certainly wasn't accurate. Replaced this time with what i would personally say is a more quality piece, the Autometer Phantom

Final bit is the results from the Awesome RR day, unfortunately the tyres were picking up a lot of static on mine and it took about 10 mins before we could get a decent reading on pick up, the heat was another negative factor but excuses aside i did get a poor result compared to the P-Torque figure just after mapping. I say poor, but to be fair with the more aggressive initial map and the overboost issue as well as conditions on the day the 257bhp wasn't too bad , it achieved 314lb/ft and you can see on the graph with the large torque spike, hopefully on the next RR day this torque figure will have come down slightly and we should see an increase in the bhp, fingers crossed.

Max Torque = 314.73
Max Clutch Power = 257.21

Reckon black will look better than anthracite mate:think: think anthracite will be a bit too close to the platinum! you thought about white????

Yea black look good on them your car tim. seen a few at work get some 1 to photoshop some on yours see what you think

thinking black , but if you click on the attached link , i like all 3 colours at the bottom, even the PC Gold i think would go and is something a bit different maybe
