Yesterday i received my 1.8t pancake and i was actually suprised of how big it actually is compared to pics, in pics it looks very restrictive, but actually its like twice the size of my cr@ppy plastic pancake pipe. Today im going to get it fitted, hopefully, i just hope that the joiner that goes from the pipe to the smic is the same size, otherwise im stuffed lol, anybody confirm??
Here are a few pics anyway

The pancake pipe itself

Below is how i am going to connect it to the red turbo pipe, with a small joiner

Well ive fitted my new pancake pipe, cant really give it a quick blast as my passenger side wheel bearing is shanked, but it seems to run smoother and i cant hear any boost leaks so touch wood it goes ok on my blasting test on friday after i get my bearing done :D

Looks superb well done. It fit on the turbo hose quite nicely then?

Cheers mate :D It was very fiddly to get it attatced to the turbo hose, but i got there in the end. The turbo hose is quite cramped in there, but isnt touching the driveshaft so all good :)

Good.

So much smoother then? This has cheered me up about getting mine done in a couple of weeks - always nice to free up a horse or two and get a smoothe delivery.

It just seems to rev more freely when driving along, i only drove up my road and back again, but you could tell it was much more smoother :D Hopefully see a increase when i get my car on the rollers :)

i orderd some zerosixty discs yesterday, agreed with the idea of not getting drilled, so these are dimpled to to retain disc strength :)

Just to be certain ive not ordered the wrong size.... standard disc size is 280mm yes?

Yeah mate, standard disk size is 280mm ;)

What diameter is the blue pipe of tubing you used?

I fitted my 1.8T pancake today and connects perfectly to the intercooler but is currently just a snug fit on the normal black turbo pipe and will easily be a cause of boost leak.

Also did you notice any gains from fitting the PD130/150 manifold? I also did this yesterday and certainly has changed the intake noise!

I'm not like you guys...
id also be interested to hear what gains can be had from having a PD150 intake, and how hard of a job this was?

Also, intercooler work looks good mate, but dont you think its a bit of overkill?
personally, i dont think we have the weather to justify fitting one, when the smic does just as good of a job? Are theyre any prooven benefits from it, (apart from looking rather cool lol) because I think I'd only look into it, as I think it looks the dogs danglies, but quite a fair bit of wedge to pay for a slight cosmetic improovement lol

(sorry if it sounds like im pissing on your chips, im just curious)

pd130/150 manifold very easy to fit. just need a new gasket and an egr power pipe. The existing right angled hose from intercooler will fit (with a little persuasion) over the the egr power pipe.

Having a re-remap on Monday, see if any gains to be had from all this inlet work.

what do you mean by egr power pipe? Is it just an EGR delete pipe? (a straight pipe basicly?)
On tdi-club, ive seen some custom SRP (stealth race pipe) which looks quite good, basicly took buttefly valve out and smoothed all the inards if i remember correctly. Il have to double check...

but anyway do you have a link to a pic of one, or where to get one, on the cheap haha :)
