flip key info thread

i have a mk4 ibiza the part number is hlo 1ko 959 753 and its 434mhz.
the dealer said the mhz wasnt right and that he was unsure if it would work as the ibiza doesnt come with a flip key.
but as you said i think i got the wrong key although it has a seat badge on it not that that is anything to go by.

also my original remote key has a plastic looking thing attached in the same section as the blade half. but the flip key doesnt have one should it?

Woohoo ive been wanting a key for ages and i aquired a HLO 1KO 959 753 G Of Ebay the other day for £19

i was very very worried coz i didnt think it would work but i set about anyway by firstly changing the transponder out of my 2nd (non remote key)
I then put the key back together went to the car ,Turned the ignition on with the 2nd key (non remote),Opend passanger side window (just incase) and then locked me car with the 1st key (remote key but used the key to physically lock the door) and then held down the unlock key on me flipkey for 6 seconds and then pressed lock 3 times . Im not sure if i needed to press lock 3 times as my car hasnt got a alarm so it wouldnt bleep

opened door physically with 1st key took 2nd key out of ignition and woohooo it works! i just need to get the blade cut now

Is it possible to change my key to a flip key if I don't have my spare?

From what i've been reading I need my spare which I never got. :(

Edit: Oh and how do I know which key part number to look for? I know my key is 424Mhz it says so on the side of it.

Edit 2: Turns out I did have the spare afterall, i've just managed to find the same key the guy above me has on ebay and i've won it so now i'm waiting for it to arrive.

Your key will not work with the boot as it is a 1K0 Key.
The 1K0 key uses a Can-bus digital signal to open the boot, where the 1J0 part number gives an analogue signal to tell the boot to open.

I mentioned this on the previous page as I'd done the same thing in buying a 1K0 part number key.
Since then I've replaced the remote part of the key since with a 1J0 959 753DA and it works perfectly including the boot button :)
1J0 959 753 AH will also work the boot for you.

Mine arrived today and I did what you suggested and it does work :funk: so I just need to get it cut now, shame about the boot button i'll look into getting a 1J0 remote...
