I think I did....can't remember to be honest! RS have been helpful with questions etc so gained quite a bit of respect in my books for being helpful. Plus then if I'm up that way, I could always visit Chris for the weekend after. ;)

Fare enough mate.

If you do go to visit Chris make sure you's give me a shout mate as he's only about 45 mins away. We might even be able to drag DPJ out too...

class lad, glad its going to finally get completed :)

Yeh too right! Should be good! You still thinking of selling yours?

what figures they been quoting?? or you hoping for

230bhp and 370ft/lb. And they've proven these figures so I'm sure they'll get them. :)

Have a word with Chris fella.....he's thinking bad things about his car! Talk him out of it!

Yeh I'm setting myself a target - to get all this done by GTI International at the end of June. So two months to get it all done. Just money that'll hold me back!

Guys advice needed! Im gonna need a new flywheel when I go hybrid, so I'm gonna put a new clutch in while Im at it. Some of you may think I'm stupid, some of you will know where I'm coming from. I am literally torn between DMF or SMF. Both setups would work out about the same....

To be honest I heard some SMF's are Castle Combe today and they weren't half as bad as what mine used to be like, I dont know if that's because Helix have made them slightly heavier or not....

I dont like the noise of the DMF, but I like the strength of SMF.

Help me make my mind up? I'm leaning one way more than other at the moment....

ive heard toms smf and to be honest i couldnt tell a difference when i first heard it, you can tell a slight difference when you actully listen for the noise but imo if there the same price and you get more strength with smf then thats what id go for

SMF won't get torn to bits by the torque as it's not held together with school erasers :) If you're going to go down the expensive road, you might as well get something you can use / abuse without wondering when it will need replacing.

Most 'old' cars are SMF anyway - it's only because people lack the skill to change gear properly that they need a DMF.

To be honest, that's the way I'm thinking. I know if I go for a SMF I'm going to be thinking "Can I put the power on yet....I best do it nice and smooth to save the DMF....." Then if I feel a slight judder I'm going to be worrying....

Do I do the clutch and flywheel before hybrid or see what it's like, then do it?

Cos I have an uprated clutch but I think that it isnt going to cope with hybrid power as I had a lot of hassle when it was fitted.....I dont think it's your normal clutch.

And the flywheel judders now if you boot it too low...so do I go hybrid and see what happens? Or get the clutch and flywheel done before and then just use the power straight away with no worries?

you dont want to have to wait any longer than you already have with the last hybrid that failed so id say get the new clutch as if the old one fails your have to wait longer than you already have had to.

I suppose! Then I can get the clutch and hybrid turbo fitted at the same time, then drive up to Leeds to get it mapped. Then it'll wear the clutch in a bit before it gets some serious abuse!
