thing is because its not an agressive map (well mine is not) but the power is always there when you nee it so your always changing fron 222bhp into 222bhp so its always pulling at the same rate.
i cant speak for ibiza130 but thats whats mine is ike
i guess its not how it feels its how it works on the road

Glad your happy with it although i expected more of a shock with the new power? Am i right in saying it's not quite what you expected? I'll be getting it done anyway this year sometime.

Looking forward to the video.

Yeh it's not what i expected tbh.....

Yeh - that's how it was!

Had a bit of a scare tonight though. Will said not to give the turbo full beans until you've given it 100 - 200 miles. And I've done about 200 now so got on an empty dual carriageway tonight and planted it in 3rd up TO the redline line, not INTO the red as I never drive like that. The power dropped right off and the exhaust note got REALLY loud. I'd lost all boost. Limped home absolutely papping myself. I mean my trip MPG prove I wasn't gunning it before then as I go an average 52 on the journey!

But just gave it the beans in 3rd and I presume it cut into limp mode? SURELY it wasn't limp mode after one blast in one gear?

Help!

Tbh compared to other hybrid dervs - it is down on torque. I believe air13u583848757 whatever his name is has the same power on his standard turbo!

The torque is a little low and I'm gonna put it down to the FMIC. It is an ok FMIC but I reckon the SS setup would make a difference. Maybe not much.

Combining the two of the best graphs I have 230bhp and 330ft/lb of torque. But the drivability is AMAZING.

not to good with remembering usernames :p

what FMIC do you have fitted? thought you had the Forge Setup

IIRC, 230 bhp s the max the injectors will allow and 330 ft/lbs is nice to have under your right foot, apparently

I thought that the glow plugs just replace the spark plugs on petrol cars but still required some sort of coilpack  dont know much about diesel engine's realy..

230bhp - the injectors are maxxed out yes - but torque seems a bit low compared to other hybrids. E.g. Tall Pall's Ibiza and T.Spark's.

I have the forge setup. Sooty22 that I bought it off had it on his Allards hybrid for ages and never had this problem!

I did remember your username - just not the numbers. :D

Coil pack gone.......

I don't THINK the dervs have coil packs. I turned the engine off and restarted it a few minutes later and all seemed fine. So surely if it were a coil pack it'd be a permantent thing?

Like I say the chap I bought it off was running hybrid with it for ages and never had this, maybe the Turbo Dynamics turbos heat more than the Allards?

I don't have vag com so will have to wait for the next meet to see what's what.

exhaust manifold / turbo gasket or turbo / downpipe gasket

get somebody to hold revs check for leaks, check all boost pipes as well and run your fingers around the pipes checking for splits that wouldn't normally be visible

i'd be very suprised if it was down to heat soak , especially as you got the Forge FMIC setup, thought they were good for a lot more power than your running!

i cant seeing it being the forge cooler, i have one on mine and never had any problems even in the summer. As said it sounds like you may have a boost leak

It's happened again today!

Had a trip to Haynes Motor Museum, gave it a few blasts on the way down, some decent blasts and it coped well! I was really impressed and shocked at it reaching and holding over 30psi of boost!

But you can't keep that sorta power on for long as the speedo soon flies up. On the way home I'd been driving pretty nicely - getting 51 average MPG. Was going up a long, steep hill (not booting it - just keeping a constant speed) and I suppose it would've been doing nearly 20psi boost, got to the top of the hill and i felt the dreaded power loss again. Just blipped the throttle and the super loud exhaust was back.

Borrowed a mates fault code reader and it says no fault codes were found - even when taken out on a quick drive.

ALTHOUGH it did say I was doing 22.3psi of boost on tickover. I think his fault code thing was broken in the department. Air temperatures went from 70ish degrees F to 90ish degrees F after about 5 seconds of hard acceleration, is that normal?

Manifold pressure was up at 75 (whatever it's measured in) and that didnt move no matter what i did with the throttle.

Something isnt right. And I wanna know what.

I've heard it's more than likely a fault with the mapping, a sensor fault (but no fault codes found) or "sticky veins" on the turbo. I certainly hope it's not turbo issues.

Have you contacted Will yet, Ash?

I pm'd him on here last night, not called today as he doesn't work Sunday's.

Will call him tomorrow and see what's what.

Got a video of my boost "jump." Sorry for the poor quality and shaky video, but watch the boost around the 10psi mark. It's under normal, consistant acceleration and I can physically watch the boost stop, then jump past 10psi. Then at the end of the video I plant it to show what might be my "unhealthy" amount of boost?

Shows the boost jump clearly 22, 21, 20 seconds before the end of the video:

Any ideas guys?

hmmm this isnot right at all.... it confusing! intake temps seem to go very very hing whan u had it scanned!

It was in farenheit not in celsius (apparently).

It was like a scangauge kinda thing that was plugged in. God knows.

Have you seen the videos?

I would say it's a faulty boost gauge but you can hear the exhaust note change and you can feel the car kinda jerk a little bit when the boost jumps. So it can't be the gauge as the car is reacting to what the boost gauge is saying....
