Today when driving about belfast the car felt very lumpy, around 1500 - 3000 revs, very strange.. I put it down to the dpf though..

When driving home the 60 miles tomo it will hopefully tell the tale

I can see some sort of silverish long thin radiator type thing but that is all...this runs flat underneath the car directly underneath the drivers side-is the DPF above this, which means it cannot be seen?

Some pics from somebody to compare would be good please...

Is that not the fuel cooler under the seat, from reading i thought DPF, then cat, then pipe to rear, maybe middle box and then back box. saw a pic, it is a round ball at fromnt of exhaust.

I dind`t have any problems removing the dpf and no light came on...:) The only thing that bothered me is that the ECU is programmed to make a periodic regeneration in the particle filter, although the car didn`t have it...What happens is that the sound of the exhaust becomes very loud ( like a Remus in a bad condition lol ). But you can be relaxed, because these ends in 5 minutes...
Sorry my english.

Cheers.

PDF - Done and dusted

Hi M.Shark

I finally removed PDF , and don't have any faults on dash :)

Big respect for You and your knowledge :) Once again well done.

My next step is to blind EGR on exhaust manifold ( already done once, but had fault every time PDF got blocked -I don't have it now, so should be ok ),and valve it self ( need to use resistors) .
With all this done I should get about 220BHP (I had 207BHP_ GIAC Remap _ ,before changes been made)
I will put my car on dyno when finished it all , and let U know

Regards

From a standard turbo, you should be able to get 240bhp. a PD170 with DPF in place can give up to 210bhp. taking off the DPF alone can yield an extra 15bhp. Another benefit of the DPF removal is that a more aggressive map can be used as you don't have to worry about clogging up the DPF. Couple the DPF delete with a non-resonated performance exhaust and you should be laughing. i'm looking to remove my DPF, but sorting the suspension and brakes before i get it done.

Yep, u just bolt it back on for MOT. With regards to road tax, u just pay same amount as a non modified tdi fr. Aftermarket modified cars don't have official emissions figure to get taxed on.

Don't worry to much

And I guess if you have an accident and it is noticed to be missing (long shot i know) you would be completely and utterly f****d!

Hi
I would be worry about tax or mot - If you know how to cheat ecu , then cheating mot wouldn't be a problem :)

Accidents - who is thinking about it ? Unless someone can't drive :)
