In this thread it says that inside the spare key (non button key) there should be a transponder chip. is anyone able to explain to me what the chip should look like?
i have a picture of the key taken apart and am unsure wether the transponder is the little cylinder in the corner of the key?
as i say i have the photo but dont know how to upload it to the forum.

Sorry for my ignorance in refusing to read all 53 pages of this thread, but have we established whether its possible to just reprogram the car to accept the immobiliser transponder in the new flip key fob, rather than messing around swapping the transponders across from the old spare key... im a bit worried about breaking it!!

if you cant be arsed to read it why should we be arsed to reply? :p

if you have your skc then you can program new ones easily, you could also use a reader to get the skc, or you can just swap the "spare" transponder

SKC = "Secret Key Code", comes with the car when bought new on a black tag, and allows you to use VAG-COM to reprogram transponders to your car. Unless like me, one of the previous owners never passed it on!!

And because I'd read enough to learn what I needed to, and was just wondering if it was possible to get around the whole transponder-breaking business ;). Its ok now though, I ripped my spare key apart and realised it wasnt even glued in! Result... :)

Hit and miss here, will the boot button on a 3 button remote work with a Mk4 2002 Ibiza Sport TDI?

If so, will any 3 button VW/Audi remote work?

Got my flipkey working today :D I bought the flipkey, key cutting and Seat badge from ebay. I just had to take a photo of my key, email it to them and they cut a blank key and it arrived today, less than 24 hours after ordering it on ebay! All works fine apart from the boot unlock button.
