if you fit the ballast out the way it can help reduce the static
most of em are shielded properly nowadays and dont usually affect much
its the arcing from the ballast unit that causes it

another question now:
after a few weeks of having the HIDs (which I'm loving), i'm now thinking of converting the full beam. As I mentioned in an earlier post, when I use them, you go from pure white light, to a nasty kind of yellow
Anyway, the question is, will flashing people cause problems for the HIDs? Think T. Spark mentioned summat about the possibility of blowing th ebulbs if you constantly turn the HIDs on and off! Also, as it takes a split second to warm the bulb, is there a possibility other wont see my flash?
not a good idea... the spark up on hids means they take a few seconds to warm up, so if your flashing some one at a junction, they wont see becuase to them your mains beams have not come on.
