Intake might help with the spool, but the high end duty cycle makes it look like it'll do more - as long as you're comfortable with that - 1.4 bar at 6,500 is stonking.

Have you had a chat with Kev about it? Would be interesting to what they think of the logs/map.

So does it go above 60mm down to 60mm then up again?

Or under 60mm up to 60mm, back down to under 60mm?

Just wondering, if pressure might come into the equation? Sucking a hell of a lot of air in...

Dunno, just a thought?

I think a fat pipe straight onto compressor inlet would help, means the flow of air stays constant...

Mike

I think I might be getting a lot of air turbulence in the 75mm in front of the compressor blades due to the convoluted pipework. I'm sure a fat straight pipe will help/

It does look like it'll do more, doesn't it. Should I be looking at aquamist at sustained boost levels like that? Any thoughts on plugs, Phil?

(I accidently started a logged power run in 3rd yesterday and got wheelspin when the boost really cut in. :scary: )

Kev, Does he phone? Does he write? Does he answer his email? :D

Any updates?

The next step is to improve the unsatisfactory lower tip situation. The inlet air flows through the oval ATP big bore (which carries the shifter cable brackets) and then steps down into the turbo compressor. I'm hoping changing the setup will make a big difference to spool and airflow.

I spent most of Sunday staring into the area, measuring and remeasuring. The added complication is that the ABS body restricts what will go there. The more you look, the more you realise why ATP went for the solution that they sell.

My new solution is tight, but I think it will work. It will comprise an 80mm straight silicon hose onto the (sleeved) turbo inlet. A 90 degree upward sweeping alloy elbow will connect to that, and the elbow will carry dv connection etc.

The work of art will be the shifter cable bracket. (I don't think ATP considered my new solution  ) Because of the lack of room, all three components will have to go down together and then be jiggled in relation to each other so that the bracket can bolt in.

All drawn up, awaiting manufacture.

Bet you wish you hadn't asked, Steve. :D

How's your TIP Dave ;), have you fabricated a solution to the gear linkage obstructions !
Here are some logs from my LCR on standard APR stage two settings showing temps at both the DP and CAT to enable you to guestimate DP temps. I was surprised how quicky the temps dropped over such a short distance.

Thanks for that Carl! (Sorry for the late reply, I've been away this week.) I'm not a huge amount forward on getting the tip manufactured as I can't get a tight enough bend made in alloy. Therefore there needs to be more silicon than I expected.

On the above figures, there's maybe a 240 degree temperature loss on yours. The length of my dp is shorter, but I'm probably looking at 200 degrees difference. Hmmmmm, hot! :scary:

Cheers guys- I am also rather interested in the dyno figures. :D

I think I should be able to get the intake side sorted in the next two weeks. Proalloy have said they'll make me a straight 80mm alloy with dv and vac connections for it and the shifter cable bracket is nearly done.

Does anyone think the RamAir might be restrictive?

Snow water/methanol kit to go on, probably next weekend. So yes, dyno in 3 weeks?

Dave - what are you going to do when you actually finish it ..... you're going to be lost!

 There's a large, broken down farmhouse within 20 km of Avignon in France waiting for full (self-build) renovation. Only problem is, I need to sell this house first in order to buy it. If things had gone to plan, the car would have been sold with only the Fabia rear wiper done. :roflmao:

I guess you'll be driving frances fastest LC then whilst rebuilding your new house :)

 No, I should sell it and buy a petit camion. (or a lhd 4wd and a big trailer ;) )

bigger large cone and some heatshield/ducting next step... like badgermobile Dave

RamAir is too small for your setup now

Thanks Bill. :) (Aren't you supposed to be on holiday?)
