Sorry to bother you boys but im abit stuck on this one, Dont really know what to do for the best.

I had a set of HIDs delivered today and when to fit them. I have got to options according to the instructions. Just switch th bulbs over, install the ballests and plug together. Plugging the two ballests into the original plugs for the old bulbs.

The other is to use the relay cable they gave me and do the same as above but use the power direct from the battery instead of the original plugs for the old bulbs.

The only advantage to this i can think of is that you will be using a separate relay and fuse instead of the one from in the car originally.

What have you boys done

Ive got them hooked up using the first method at the minute and i will say, anyone that is thinking of buying these. DO IT NOW!!!!!

Mine are installed the same way yours are, connecting the ballasts to the existing plugs for the old bulbs.

My kit didn't have the option to connect straight to the battery.

HIDs are really easy to fit...all you need to do is drill a hole about the size of a 10p into the bulb covers. And yes they make a BIG difference, they really do make the standard bulbs look so crap.

Probably my favourite mod.

I done it properly, mounted the ballats under the headlights on the chasis. All hidden away nicely. :D

That what im going to do i think. I can stand a messy engine bay.

Did you connect them to the battery though or just to the original bulb connections?

It is do-able without removing the bumper as i did, but would imagine much easier and quicker just to remove it. As long as you get the correct kit i.e H7 then the ballasts should just plug directly into the standard plugs. One word of warning though, just make sure you don't cut the hole in the of the headlight cover too big for the grommet otherwise they will just steam up from condensation when ever you wash the car or when it rains.

I can get the bumper off in about 5 minutes now so it was easier for me to do it that way. Plus gettin the bulbs and wires into the lights are easier as you take the headlights out completely to gain acces to the chasis leg.

Mine are just plug and play so i didnt need to wire them to the battery.

I installed mine by removing all the old bulbs, put the HIDs in, wire them to the ballast and the original wiring and all is ok. Hid the ballasts under the driver headlight and the side of the battery on the wing

bearing in mind it was midday and very bright outside when i took these pictures. still yet to take pictures in the dark, but they are much better than my 130w main beam bulbs.

Mine are connected to the original harness, but iam gonna use the battery loom when i get round to it, as sometimes there is a 2 - 3 second delay before the drivers side light comes on.

Maybe down too power supply. So my advice is put it in using the additional loom.

I'm confused, bought some HID's last night for my mk3 Ibiza, they haven't arrived yet so thought i'd do a little research.

I bought the H7 type, do they work on dipped beam AND high beam? Or am i completely wrong?
