Sorry for the daft question, but am I right in thinking this will work with my 51 reg (2002) Leon Cupra? My remote key is useless.

Bought it now anyway, part no was HLO 1JO 959 753 AG so should be fine.

For anyone wanting the "S" Seat badge for the flip keys, but getting fobbed off by dealers, here is the number off the packaging for my badge that i received today.
1MO 837 891 A JGT And this was ordered through a VW garage with no problems. Don't let SEAT fob you off with this number!!
The total price (including VAT) is £3.15
Hope this helps some of you

I've been reading this thread with interest. I've one question, that I'm still not sure to the answer.

If I get hold of a key, probably a 434mhz model, can I check it will lock and unlock the car, without having to get the blade cut and the immobiliser transponder transferred across to the new key.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered previously, I must have missed it.

That's what I was thinking. So basically I'm following Step 8 of Gaz's instructions in the first post?

gazjones said:
8 to code the remote you need the old original key in the ignition with it turned on then lock the door with the new key remove key then press unlock and horn will blip wait 6 second and press unlock again the key is now coded to your car!

So I'm putting my standard key in the ignition - on Stage 2? But then it says 'lock the door' - does this just mean hitting the 'lock' button on the new flip key? As obviously I wouldn't have the blade cut yet to put it in the door!

Sorry if this sounds daft, but it's confusing me at the moment...

Cheers, Steve

no needs to be locked with you other spare key if you havent got your new key cut so basically car needs to be locked with the igniton on

Now sorted - thanks again. Just need to get the blade cut and the badge ordered.

Nice little bonus too - as I got a three button key, the boot button works on mine! So it will unlock the boot, then automatically lock itself when I close it again [B)]

Right very nearly done, key programmed no problem, key cut no problem, all works if I have existing key (with tranpsonder in).

Problem is I can seem to get into the part of the key where I think that transponder should go.

I have removed the badge and screw, but still no luck, do I need to prise it apart?

Mah finally got in, 2 hours and a finger with a screwdriver sized hole in later.

All works now. As it seems the thing to do, old key was a 433, new key was advertised as 434mhz.

Had to go to 3 key cutting places, first one (timpsons in meadowhall) said they couldn't do it, second said no, third did it no problem (£8).

So £28 inc shipping, for the key, £8 for the cut, that's £36 total.

Just wanted to say that I've just ordered the SEAT sticker from a different dealer over the phone. The part number used is 1MO 837 891 A JGT and it's £3.15 including VAT.

I rang a VW Dealer to check whether I could get it there (as it's about 10 miles closer...) and though he checked the part number and that it was valid he couldn't order it for me. Should be here Thursday. What have people used to attach them to the key??
