I said its a poor mans porsche lol.....

I can think of much better cars to spend 41k on personally.....if your gonna buy a porsche then do it properly!!!!!!

I could afford to buy one....do I want one....nope.....

anyone who knows me will know that i am sooo not into all that status stuff and am happy as a piggin **** with my LCR and scooby

So you don't believe in having cars for status, but do think if you're going to have a Porsche you should spend 60k, not 40k?

UNless you are buying a Ferrari or a Rolls Royce etc. then I'm not into having a car for the status you think it gives you. But I do appreciate cars for what they are and the Boxster is a very, very good car.
But having said that, I wouldn't have one as I would use the money (if I had it) to buy a secondhand 911. Not for the status, but for the fact that I prefer the looks and I am not that keen on soft-tops.

Given your situation I certainly wouldn't have an Impreza. I don't like the image they have now and I really don't like the looks. I'm not knocking your choice of car, just trying to illustrate that everyone has different opinions and wants from a car.

I raced light last night and was several yards ahead of it when a Ferrari and a Porsche blocked my way. I think they were both flat out. Light must have sneaked between them at that point and got away.

Oh well, perhaps next time.:(

Sorry Dave,
That was MY fault , I had them penned in with my Sky-Van.. took them on the blind-side and wouldnt let them by ... but i know what you mean about light,, i drove somewhere t'other day, it was light as i set off.. was dark when i got there, so must have beaten light to my destination  :p

Erm...i remember someone said "there is more to a car than how fast it goes"

Well done, you've demonstrated you can read and remember. Gold star.

In addition to going fast in a straight line there is braking, handling, looks, depreciation - a whole load of things to take into account. I like doing trackdays - the Leon isn't a car I want to do them in.

How did I know this would blow up into so much 'again'.

I left work and t was a page long and now it's 3 pages :headhurt:

I have never read such childish comments - ice maiden being the worst! I thought this was a 'car enthusiasts forum' where people generally know about cars?!? Instead it's turning into www.SeatCrooz.com

It can't be all about the speed or else you'd be on a Bike forum. I work in a bike shop and have ridden dozens of bikes, I currently have a special edition Gixer and like Reg I used to ride a Ninja 7-R.

I now drive a TDi Ibiza 130 due to the fact that these 'hot hatches' and not all that hot at all. I enjoyed my LCR and loved her to bits but after blasting around on my then R6 it felt like I has towing a cement mixer around with me.

ice maiden you say you drive a scooby (This generations Chav car replacing the ageing XR3i / RS Turbo's) well done you. :cartman:

Boxster S is a poor mans Porsche? Isn't that what poor people say who can't afford any Porsche and are bitter about it? Go to a Porsche dealer and ask to sit in a brand new Boxster S ... Don't even have to turn the key - and your going fast, you'll have a smile on your face and the Porsche badge will be right under your nose. Does the Seat give you this feeling?

You must have some perception of quality or else we'd all be driving £2,000 Pulsar's around the place instead of LCR's.

If you want a go on the back of my bike ask nicely and I'll happily scare the sh1t out of you.

what a twat!!!!! what i drive is totally my choice.... and dont even talk to me about quality.......

and for your information I could go into a porsche dealers and buy one tomorrow....would I ....no...because i am more than happy with the cars I have.

As for motorbikes, well dont even go there, over 90% of people who ride them show no regard whatsover for other road users then winge their arses off when they get knocked off......

Great choice of words I think that Croooze site is waiting for you to join.

And with my financial status so could I. So stop your bragging

90% of people who ride them show no regard whatsover for other road users - Please reveal your source.

Have I even been knocked off? No.

Do I winge when chavs cut me up in their scoobs under the impression I was racing them when really just crusing in 6th? No.

But you missed the point ... If you were really into performance then you'd be on a bike forum. You're not that tells me your either too immature to take control of a motorbike (like many of my friends who think they are 'good drivers') or your just plain scared?

I know hundreds of bikers and I agree most have some screws loose in their head, maybe you need to be a 'have no fear' type of guy to ride a bike properly? but they live their life on the edge and enjoy 'performance/speed' if you want quality and style then buy yourself a Boxster S.

Poor mans Porsche

PS Do you drive your scooby with your fogs on all the time? with your little LED washers? ... Bet it looks pretty in the night
