Actually, could I just have all your mods :D

You everything I'd want to do to mine (and more!)

Must have spent crazy money on it. Sure it's worth it though.

Yeah alot of people say that... and yeah a few bob has been spent, near 10k i think now... hey all in the pursuit of customised motors....

and yeah AndyVTR, it can be perceived as a Mugs game, but then so can be an owner of a SAXO, NOVA... and any other car that a chav spends money on, but then also even if you dont spend money on a car and buy a BMW or a MERC i just see that as a person that lacks imagination and style.... each to there own thou!

yeah clutch sllip is when you put you foot down and revs rise and speed stays the same, from what your explaining on first post a sensor of some sort is playing up,

thought about taking to dealers so they can scan for faults? just a thought.

Nope, no ESP only standard TCS, thats it ...It's a basic FR original...

I can't get to the dealers till end of nxt week after my cars been in to the bodyshop and the damage that was done by some chav keying a few weeks ago is sorted...

It's all going well...!

Let us know what the dealers say - but I'd put money on it being the clutch !

The exact same thing happens to mine, and it started happening on the way home from having my Remap done !

:( I have started to experience a similar unsettling problem as described earlier, I have a remap and have started to notice the increase in noise volume from the front end when I put my foot down. The car however does not propel forward with the usual exciting boost I once owned. So its deffo clutch on my pd engine. Is the fr a better engine than the pd? I know I have a greater amount of heat exchange going on in there, or is that the same? This has probably been discussed before, sorry to those who have read it but I find it a little strange why seat have so many differing examples. And does anyone know if there would be a problem exchanging my clutch through the dealer I have reached 30k now but still under warrenty.

AoS said it happens off roundabouts accelerating up the gears,
could it just be needing a better re circ valve, keeps the turbo spinning when changing gear so no lag waiting for it to spin up ahain

The fr isnt an engine its a model name, they all have the pd engine. Mine does it but its hard to explain, it wont do it if i drop it into 3 or 4th at low revs and just stamp on the pedal, no slip atall. However if i boot it in 2nd then into 3rd i get this weird thing sometimes where the revs seem to jump to 3000rpm then continue as normal, thing is they never jump above 3000 (just stop dead on and continue normally), im not sure if it is clutch slip on mine or just the turbo spooling the revs up to 3k.

Im just perplexed as to what it is, I tried driving with a cap over the rev counter to stop me looking at the dam thing and i dont really notice anything atall. Im unsure if its me just being ultra paranoid and constantly looking at the revs when i boot it as this forum has got me panicking about clutch slip. I honestly dont know if there is anything wrong with mine or not.

If you do put it in for warranty you are going to have to turn the map off if you can, if you cant they may notice it. If you put it in let us know what happens as i nearly put mine in but didnt because im unsure as to what mine is and dont want them to go looking if there really isnt a problem. I have another 2 years of warranty left so i will see how mine goes.

I also cant remember what mine was like without the remap, it might have been the same i just dont know.

Anyone who thinks they have it try this

To test the clutch for slippage, set the emergency brake and start the engine. Place the transmission or transaxle in high gear. Then try to drive the vehicle forward by slowly releasing the clutch pedal. A clutch in good condition should lock up and immediately kill the engine. A badly slipping clutch may allow the engine to run, even with the clutch pedal fully released. Partial clutch slippage could let the engine run momentarily before stalling.

Nice one Scnipps, i shall try this in the morning i did however, try the hand brake test to see if the car dipped at the rear, and it did a beautiful demonstration of the correct action. i can tell you that before the re map this type of thing never happened at all for sure.

I will be doing some work with the car this weekend, changing the headlights, and maybe a little detailing but she is going back into the dealers to find out what it is. I have the ability to turn off the mapping i have done this before when it went back in for a new compressor (air con) all was fine they never noticed.
i will let you know how things develop as we get through it all. Thanks for clearing some of the other things up for me also.

Chris what happens in yours if you put the pedal to the floor in 3 or 4 when in low revs, say 1.5k will it pick up the revs or slip? Mine doesnt slip which i find odd, because if you do that then surely there is the most torque going through the box so if its a slipper it should slip. Thast why im lost with what mine is as it only does it on certain aceeleration types.

It will pick up to around 3k revs, then the revs will dip for a second or 2, then eventually catch up & continue to rise.

This only happens when giving it some welly !!

You say they "dip" surely that cant be cluctch slip, if they rise sharply thats slip. How can dipping me slip as the revs arent building up. This whole thing is a nightmare, we need a mechanic to explain this properly.

/edit
Been out for a run this morning and its worse so its booked in now for definite, lest see whats said, i will report back.

I tihnk he doesn't see them rise. I only notice if I watch it but by the time I look normally it's dropping.

So is yours doing it aswell Andy?

Im getting revo turned off on monday, if the car is fine without it im going to see what seat say and then will likely never turn it back on. Just have to accept it was one of those things and forget about it.

Hows it behaving now you say its got worse?
Is it really that bad that you would just turn the revo off?

I thought i had the same problem (Only got mine mapped last week) but now when just easing the throttle down I havnt had a problem.
The only annoying thing at the minute is im always looking at the revs to work out when i can give it some welly...! Bit of a pain, wish i could just floor it any any time.

Thing is mate you shouldnt have to watch the revs or worry about slip, i can drive without it slipping easily but i have to be more gentle. I dont want to have to do that though, thats not what i got a remap for. When i say its got worse it might be the cold but i whitness slip in 3 and 4th over 3k revs, it slipped for about 500 revs, its horrible i feeling, i cant drive propely anymore, and so yes i will get it turned off permenantly if needs be. Its moe a mental thing i think, but its something i would rather not have to worry about.

Problem is, i wanted to get my map took off after 2 weeks BUT the garage said they didnt do 30day refunds, i then found out that they SHOULD have, but it was past the 30 days, so im furious about that anyway.

Im sure there is something just generally wrong with my car anyway so i will let seat have a look and take it from there as to what to do.

Sorry to hear that Schnipps, i know what you mean, you shouldnt have to worry.
From the sounds of it..mine doesnt really have a problem (yet) coz I CAN floor it without sliping but im just paranoid after reading all these threads and im now scared to floor it under 2.5k revs..which is why im always looking at the revs....
Think i will just try driving normally again and see if I have any problems..

Only thing i have noticed is if I floor in too high a gear a get a bit of a vibration, probably from the flywheel but it doesnt happen with higher revs..

You shouldn't floor it at low revs anyway, that will fcuk your clutch up even if it's fine now !!!

If you want to floor it, gear down & then give it some

I dont, I floor it in 2nd with high revs and into 3rd and its slips 70% of the time, i never floor it in 3rd that was just to test it.
