You shouldn't floor it at low revs anyway, that will fcuk your clutch up even if it's fine now !!!

If you want to floor it, gear down & then give it some

I didnt say it right.. what i meant was im not sure how hard you can actually accelerate in higher gears at low revs...for example... say you are in 3rd at around 1.5k revs and you want to speed up, is it then ok to slowly accelerate or should you drop a gear..?
I know when really giving it some to change down a gear and keep the revs up.

If I'm in 6th at 2k rpm and want to accelerate I'll just lightly press the accelerator a bit more to gain speed. If I really need to over take somebody I'll drop to 4th and boot it.

:D

Yep !

If i'm in 4th & just taking it easy, I will just ease the gas to build up speed. If I was in 4th & wanted to overtake someone (at low revs), I'd drop it into 3rd 1st !

Hi think the problem could be similer to my mates golf. the problem he used to have when he is driving normal in 5th gear, the car jus dies out and the revs dies as well for 3seconds. Then all sudden a quick boost of power.
The problem was with oil pump, that its keep playing up. later as it got worser and the oil can symbol starts flashing but when check oil level every thing is fine.

the problem was the oil pump, get yours check if you still havnt found the problem.

Regards

The problems some have had with this though, seems to be after a remap. Would a remap put more stress on the Oil Pump??

YEH , AS THE ENGINE WORKS HARDER, THE PUMP WORKS HARDER AS WELL TO ENSURE OIL is PUMPED TO ALL WHOLE ENGINE AND TURBO UNIT.

ONCE THE PUMP SEIZES UP, THIS WILL CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEM TO ENGINE THAT COULD DAMAGE THE ENGINE

my bad, for got i had the caps on.
well the oil pumps is part of the engine and is hard to get to. I think the engine has to be lifted to get access. This is very expensive as some charge hard labour.
Yeh hit down to SEAT dealers or qualified proffesion and they could check you causes. In most cases the pumps may need replacing or its on its way out
