Has anyone removed a front wing on their Mk4? I have a rusty spot on the side skirt(?) right behind the wheel arch so close to where the wing meets the side skirt that fixing it without removing the wing seems impossible. It's the left side wing that I'd need to remove.

Any help would be appreciated!

Very straight forward mate.

- Remove the main wheel arch lining and the smaller lining near the side repeater.
- Undo the two bolts that connect the wing to the sill (10mm I think)
- Undo all the bolts that you can see in the wheel arch.
- Unclip the side edge of the bumper...pull out gently...and remove the 2 or 3 bolts that are behind it.
- Undo the single bolt that is inside the door jam at the top.
- Undo the 3 bolts inside the engine bay.
- Unclip the side repeater wire.
- Finally carefully remove the wing from the car. It may be stuck in a few areas with sealent so get a friend to help.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks, that was fast! I guess it's fairly evident once you've removed the wheel arch lining. I'll definitely give it a shot once my holidays start. :)

(Love your Ibiza, BTW!)

Thanks mate :)

I did have a few rust spots in the area that you mention but they have now disapeared. Maybe it was just a bit of surface rust?

Same place as mine, but it is tiny and has got no worse in the last year or so, so I am going to leave as is.

Seems that this area of the car is a particular harbourer of dirt so inevitable over the long term.
