I have to admit I’m not too keen on some of the bits stuck on your car but the comment wasn’t aimed at you! I hope I haven’t offended anyone! :D
All with a pinch of salt i'm sure mate.
Sometimes i'm surprised when someone posts up a picture of a body kit mod that i think looks quite tasteful then before you know it people hit it with the chav stick.

In this polically correct world in which we live we can still get away with bashing the following three:-

1. Gipsies
2. Gingers
3. Chavs

Long may it continue too. Think of the poor feckers who may belong to all three categories.

you dont have to be a chav for u to bash these groups haha, smack heads are also on the list and you get extra points for them polish who are robbing all the work...FECKERS![:@]

Any car will eventually depreciate enough for people to be able to afford it and then glue shite to it.
Hopefully though the trend is moving away from body kits bigger than the cars and 47 'zorsts, even the maxyp brigade seem to be changing.

:D I've been around here a long time. If I was sensitive, I'd have left 5 minutes after I joined. I'm always curious that people can label 'tasteless' as chav, then 'anything they don't' like as chav.

In the same breath, you'd be labelling new Leon2 factory approved bodykits as chav, because that's what mine was (factory approved kit) - it never rolled on the public road as anything else. Zboyd had a spoiler same as mine on his LC. Sure, some things go out of style/taste (like my bodykit) - but years later, they can be looked on again as 'of a classic style'.

I don't have an lcr, but the 20vt cupra, and the reason i bought it was because it didn't seem to attract that chav element, that a lot of other cars seem to these days.

I did consider a scooby, but and I kid you not, their like clitoris allsorts round here, (every c**ts got one) so decided against it.

So although there do seem to be some slightly chavvy examples of the leon starting to appear, you only have to look on fleebay to see them occassionally, I do hope the leon remains chav free, cos if not i'm gonna have to sell and buy a tvr......

and tbh, it probably doesn't have the "street cred" that the escort/cavalier/corsa/nova/R5.... etall, that the chav brigade admire so much, and that my friends can only be a good thing..... :funk:

Oh, and i thought chav stood for council house and vauxhall, unless you live in essex when it could mean council house and vehicle... but i could be wrong ;)

I'm sure this doesn't apply if you live in essex and drive a leon tho' :D

As someone who drove an entirely standard and unmodded Golf Mk4 for the last 6 years I can tell you its a relief to be driving an LC.

I really like how LC and LCR owners on the whole keep things subtle , something that hasn't seemed to happen to Golfs, plus VWs are a hell of a lot more numerous, and hence more popular.

Not that I don't miss my old car mind ;)

IMO the LCR is a real performance bargain! Bang for buck I honestly don't think theres much out there that beats it...I can honestly say that it's the best/nicest car I've ever owned and doubt I'll get rid of mine for a long time!

Alternatives such as the S3, FRS CTR, TT, R32 seem slightly more epensive to buy second hand...If LCRs get any cheaper do you think they will become the next "chav wagon" or remain an unknown performance bargain?

Discuss....

The simple answer is no, the reason being.....There just aint enough of them to make an impact.

5000 odd cars split between say 500 towns/cities/villages splattered around the 800 by 200 miles UK land mass, it aint going to have a nationwide 'chav' impact. I have been home in Scotland now since April and have not seen 1 other LCR up here. (Commute 150 miles per day for work, so doing a lot of miles)

IMO anyway.

S3/TT/FRS/R32 were all dearer than LCR to begin with hence why their prices may still be higher. CTR prices are similar, you can easily pick up a CTR for £6500, lower than what ive seen LCR's at!

Any car can be made 'chav' i suppose but to get like saxo/nova/corsa/impreza, its gotta hell of a long way to go before that happens!
