CTR is quicker than a LCR, standard for standard,
LCR seems to just have it till bout 65 then the CTR pulls through its 3rd to pull about 2-3 car lengths,
then the CTR pulls very slightly all the way up to whenever you wanna stop!

I have run against a (supposedly stock) CTR from 2006 with my Leon Mk1 FR (AUQ engine), once in stock form (got beaten) and twice after the remap (won)

After the remap I've left him a small advance, caught up, ran together up to 80 mph/130 km/h, afterwards my Leon got in front

I have to tell it was not a private road, the speed limits were not obeyed... and it was not in Britain :p

Love this thread.... had similar one when i had my Mazda MX6. So i can't just leave with out adding a bit about my very own race of races....
First picture the scene......
The sun is shining and im on my way back the club meet at Japfest car show.
My car ( the MX6) is shining it's heart out in its fresh coat of wax... the 2.5 24v V6 is ticking over like a angels song, the hum trickling out of the full sports exhaust, tuned by a lovely full length CAI......
The sun roof is back and Hotel california is on the radio.....
Suddenly a nice black car pulls along side and comes to a halt. ( good job really as we were both stuck behind stationary traffic!)
We exchange a glance and start to 'caress' our accelerator pedals, waiting for the imaginary lights to go green.
As the cars in front suddenly pull away, we are caught off guard - me admiring his car and him proberly wondering what the hell my car was ( nobody seems to recognise it!). We nail the gas and shoot forward......
It's neck and neck and the engines are flat out, the exhausts have gone from angels to raging demons and tarmac screams in agony as our tires rip into it..
With in seconds its over...... and i have won!!!! Yes!
Sadly although the black car was a 2 year old Ferrari, we only covered a matter of feet before the traffic stopped again. Luckily however his line of cars stopped before mine!!!!
So i dont care what anyone says.... I got further than him from a standing start! WOOO HOOOO
Nice guy though, he opened his window and said that was the maddest bit of stupid fun he had in ages! And yes he asked what car mine was!
Still makes me laff. Just glad we didnt have more that 9 feet to race on!
Hope to meet him again with the LC.... I hope he is living in fear, he should be!
lol

i cant see how the civic is faster after 60mph as mentioned above to be honest, leon has more power, more torque and the weight disadvantage will be gone by then aswell.

think its more likely to be other way BCM....

BCM is about bang on... Had both for 3 years doing 30,000k + a year.. So have a decent amount of experience in both.. Not much in it in a straightline to be fair, but as the speeds get higher, the CTR will have the edge (IF DRIVEN PROPERLY).. Just cause the LCR has more power and torque, doesn't make it quicker..
My mates Integra Type R DC2 (with Spoon exhaust, ITG CAI and Decat) Is only slightly slower than my Revo'd LCR (probably 4-5 car lengths till speeds get silly) and that's a 1.8 16V N/A with around 200bhp...

THANK GOD!!!
Someone with an unbiased view.
The LCR is not the quickest car in its league, the CTR is a better all rounder - apart from as a nice daily drive!
But remap the LCR and you'll be saying bye bye.

I had a new shape Type-R keeping up with me on a duel carriageway a couple of weeks ago but he couldnt get past.
Thats why more mods are now required, next time i'll blow him off in style.

ive been up against a CTR in my Ibiza Cupra and Leon Cupra R and pull away from them every time but then the ibiza had revo and was an animal :) i am assuming were talking about bog standard non modified ICs and LCRs??

if you have revo youll definatly leave CTRs standing!

there are many things you have to consider

1. The driver
2. the CTR is non turbo
3. Weather (i.e is it cold, wet, windy etc)
4. Quality of tyres on your car against the road conditions etc

but overall you should get away

Dear oh dear! At the end of the day a remapped lcr will beat an CTR. A standard lcr will be even and it will be down to driver....................
