What is my 225 LCR doing i need help?

Also did they just give you a new MAF, or did you have 2 buy it. I can get one but they want £100 4 the MAF and £50 4 fitting it.

Its a 225 car so its still under warranty.

I got mine changed under warranty about 9 months back. The difference it made was unbelievable!

I complained that the car was hitting flat spots, it wasn't pulling like before and i had it diagnosed as a MAF fault on a rolling road test!

They didnt argue and replaced it free of charge!

Because oil soaked filters have a tendancy to destroy 1.8t maf sensors.

You should be okay with just a panel filter but SEAT wont touch your MAF under warranty if you have that in the box! It would have to be a genuine SEAT filter

£40 of fuel and 150 miles.

Sounds like your car is either being ragged to within an inch of it's life OR somewhere amongst these faults it's massively overfuelling.....this may ultimately damage the catalyst.

£55 of fuel should be around 310miles ish on std driving

TBH I would take the car up to Stealth motorsport they know what they are doing.

But because it was sold with Black Forge DV and Green Air Filter onit. They said they will not fix it under Seat warranty, and just give me the keys back!! Not v.happy with them!!

They will have a hard time refusing as they sold the car with the filter in place. If it's a known problem they should have removed it befoe the sale.

Take the car away from Francis SEAT and to another dealer....plenty are mod friendly incl Listers in Cov......they are by no means great but they won't care about the DV and filter.

My first choice would be Stealth though who are an independent VAG specilist

Hi Ruddmeister i am driving the car as slow as i can it is just using 2 much fuel and it is not been ragged that much just 75% std and 25% ragged. I put £160 of fuel in the LCR in a week (i dont go outside of Leicester). So y is it using all that fuel, if the power is about right 4 std?

Hi mdo78 they are saying that i have put a Revo Free Trail, DV and Filter on the car and they would of not sold it wiv mods. So they said i did it. WTF it went back the next day. I did not get the car 2 2pm it was back the next day at 12pm. So i did all of that in 24 Hours. I dont think so, do you???

Take it to Listers in Coventry then. You just go down the M69, round the A46 and it's next to B&Q. At least it's free. As has been said they are more mod friendly.

Sounds like they were clutching at straws to get out of paying for an ECU. I was going to take my car to Francis for the 2 year/20k service but won't bother now, I drive past Listers on the way to work anyway.

The car was from Derby and also Seat in Derby looked after that car from new b4 i got it. Is Seat Derby any good anyone know??? I could take back to them.

Im really annoyed that Francis Seat can be blaming you for mods you havnt carried out.

Listers in Cov are a SEAT dealer although they are cool with Revo....infact they will have your car revo'd on there premises if you like. Listers customer service is sometimes iffy but it's worth a go.

Stealth are the best independent in your area (my opinion) and a Revo dealer too http://www.stealthracing.co.uk/

IMO your car is using too much fuel...wonder if someone has stuck a 4bar fuel pressure regulator on or something ....personally I;d pay up and go to Stealth Stealth will be able to log various engine sensors etc and check fault codes to determine any issues

Thanks everyone i am goin 2 have 2 do something about my LCR. I love that car 2 bits, i dont want 2 give it back 2 Francis Seat, or sell it. I just want 2 get it fixed asap!

Also something i did not tell you is that after it was sold in Derby it had only 8500 on the clock i got the car a week later on 9900! YES, I SAID 9900!!! It only went from Derby 2 Leicester. So someone ragged my LCR in that week and did 1400 miles. That could be y, so not very happy at the min.

But i will get the car fixed, but i think it is goin 2 cost me abit of cash 2 get it fixed, but at the end of the day i just love that car, is great!!!

Ok, just got back from AMD. Adam is great (Thats the MD of AMD). He got the car fixed in last then 15min. It had a Free Revo Trial on it. He said that my boost = 0.9 and fuel = 0.1 to 0.7 they should be both 0.8 as std. So he reset the ecu back 2 std with Seat UKs ECU image.

He all of said that i should not of been using the car!!! It had NO, ESP, TC, PAS and no ABS (also he said because of all of that was all off, the airbags might of been offline 2, but he was not 2 sure on that).

But the car is now fixed, and he did that 4 free (as it was him that did my 51 black LC)

Seat did get one thing right the MAF is ok (Adam has tested that as well)
