Mine is fine left to right.
But when in 2nd, 4th and 6th it feels like its sitting too far back.

What isn't when it comes to building cars??

But yeah offsetting the costs involved is pushing me into the depth and complexity of carrying out as much of the work as possible myself if I decide to go that route.

Damn, this got you all excitable 🤣

Just got back from the test drive so here's what was done.

Forge front to rear short shift set to almost max
Forge side to side short shift set to almost max
42Draft solid bracket bushes
Recon'd bracket
Darkside cable end solid bushes

What's it like? As Thai said it's notchy as hell, shifting into 1st or reverse isn't a good feeling, just means more care needed which I'm okay with.

Shifting is a lot more direct and each shift is a flick of the wrist away. It turns heel n toe into a joy rather than an exercise in patience and faith/luck.

If this wasn't a car headed for track days (and commuting when the weather is too crap for a bike) then I'd back off the throw.

Yeah. If you can do the work yourself it’s alway cheaper and more rewarding. I try to do everything myself. I also enjoy the learning aspect of it

Surely it shouldn’t be notchy?

Absolutely, I'll pretty much give anything a go on the car these days to save money and like you say it's satisfying to know you've done the work yourself.

Removed my strut brace so I could finally trim down enough to get the bonnet strut to fit back on

Cleaned and painted the area

Had to replace one of the rivnuts as it came loose and pulled out when I removed brace but new on installed and all back together

Have to remove mine this spring. Want to paint it white.
And hit the drill holes with some anti rust. Which I forgot to do when I installed.

Finally took my front S off and tarted it up some. Not perfect but looks a load better compared to before

I really want to do this to mine - maybe a matt black. Was it straightforward to get it out?

Everyone round here knows I'd much rather be doing stuff like this than any *actual* spanner work...

Is your Leon a respray or did it come in white? It's one of the few cars that a white paint job looks really good on.

No the car’s silver. The blue silver. That’s just a wierd lighting on the photo.
I agree white is the best. What I may do if I wrap it. With a black roof.
That S badge is easy to get out. You remove the plastic scuttle panel above it. Then just pull the S unit forward and it pops out.
Simples.
Here’s a shot of the car in real colours.

Ha! Lunar Grey - LS7Y - same as mine. And there I've been this past couple of years thinking yours is white... I do like the blue tone - much more than the plain silver anyway.

I'll have to have a go at the badge, or I might buy one to practice on. I'm thinking I'll mask the edges and spray those red, and then put matt black or grey for the logo. Now I know I can get it out fairly easily, I've got no excuse.

Well, other than the fact I have to clean my turbo tomorrow... Dreading it, but has to be done now.
