It's a diesel so it goes chuggachuggachuggachugga but with more bass.

I've been wondering about an exhaust for ages, but didn't know if it would give me any performance gains. I've got the FR 150...

Swapping them takes 20 mins so I don’t mind that once a year

Saving now myself for a complete 3 inch system, sport cat and as much as it pains me labour and vat.

Picked up a couple of work tables for the workshop. So having a play with the coolers as they pushed against the bumper so realigning them.

Just having a sit down and just looking at it.... how far it has come from a standard 180 cupra Road car.... but then how far I still got to go.
And that I really need to paint the walls. Any one a painter and decorater. I could do with one of them spray machines. Couple of quick coats and it would look mint.

Swapped alternator & tensioner this afternoon. Due to seized freewheel.

Neighbours children are asking their parents the meaning of
"f**cking sh*tty kraut design", "for f*cks sake", "Bomber Harris, I forgive you." etc. etc.
The access is pretty hateful for these on the ASV tdi.

Annoying thing is the brushes were nearly worn enough to have condemmed the alternator,
but the freewheel managed to beat them by a few weeks and wreck the tensioner.

Lovely and silent now.

Had a bit of extra money come in this month so was looking at buying a new clutch and DMF.

It's the flywheel that's confusing me though - from the guides I've read, it seems people don't really decide about what to do with the flywheel until everything is taken apart, and I can't afford to buy a flywheel on top of everything else when I can get a genuine Sachs kit with everything in it for a shade under £300.

Is it worth buying a kit with a flywheel included and just replace it regardless, or do people still machine old flywheels? Mine has 160k on it, but most of those have been motorway miles.

I'm guessing it's one of those times where it depends what my flywheel looks like when I've taken everything apart...?

As far as I know a lot of people will not machine/re surface a DMF owing to its construction.
You could go SMF but I understand that these can cause vibrations - Some say they are fine and other not so - there's no definitive answer
LUK would be cheaper maybe

Its not a case of machining the flywheel.
Its hard to explain but they are sort of 2 piece. Maybe Google could explain better.

The problem you get from a knackered dmf is either shaking/vibrating pedal or shaking/vibrating car when you change gear.

I guess you could say the dmfs start to wobble.

If you are going to the expense of putting a clutch in, id put a flywheel in too.
If you just fit the clutch and a thousand miles down the road the flywheel starts playing up, itll have to come apart again.
Peace of mind.

Sods law.
