i attempted to fit my sub in the boot, i have had this 15" sub for years now but the box it was in is about 4 miles long, fine in my old mondeo not so good in the leon so i opted for a custom stealth box.

trial fit to make sure it fits in the space correctly

a quick trip to wickes for some wood, and some cutting later

and with the amp screwed on the back out of the way

now i just need to work out how to fix the panel to the car as it will have to sit out about 4 inches from the trim, im tempted to try and fiberglass it in and get a solid box but i have never used fiberglass before, and i have no idea how much space or cubic feet this sub will need to work properly or how to work it out correctly, it sounded epic in the box it was in.

I also still need to run the rca cable and remote lead from the head unit to the boot, and find a place for the switch that is out of sight.

Right had seats out, carpet is out and so is the underlay.

Put the seats back in, everything connected up okay then reconnected the battery - now the driver's door won't lock while the rest of them do.

Wtf :censored::confused:

REALLY hoping its not the microswitches etc, the door was locking fine this morning. Just away to rip the doorcard off and check all the wiring....

Decided to take a blast this afternoon and love the increased noise from having no carpets :D Might just leave it like this for a good while to get the source of the leak, I don't mind it - the missus might have something different to say though :handbags:

Driver's door has also decided to start working again, so maybe the old girl was just being a bit temperamental, you know how they can be :)

Last weekend i did this

30mwu11.jpg

I bought another can of the gloss black today, so plan on doing the slatted grilles either side of that, the foglight grilles and the big grill in the middle of the bumper, removing the plate, removing the 100 shitty sticky pads and then painting the silver bit the plate mounts to gloss black aswell, on a silver leon cupra r bumper :) should look loads better than dull grey covered in silver overspray, will get pictures, might even leave the plate off till i get a smaller one.

Well between today and yesterday I have washed, vacuumed, clay barred the Cupra and washed down the engine bay. I've now heard there is snow forecast for tomorrow... Doh! :(

i fancy doing that to mine , as i have some mtx sledgehammers left over from previous car and quite like the boot space i now have over the non existent boot space (because of build ) in last car

perhaps thats a project for you mark ??

Not strictly today but over last few days

fitted my new milltek rear box on sat morning and gave her a good clean using RhinoGoo ( new and getting big/ favoured in the motocross world ) car was gleaming so gave her a little dodo juice orange crush to polish off :3rd:

yesterday morning me and my brother did the N249 bypass, no idea of effect yet as he drives it to work, I'll get an update later.

got some AP calipers to replace the standard 312mm calipers that are going on as soon as I've got tyres on the 17's to go over them.

they turned up with not so great paint so I had them shot blasted and have painted them with satin black VHT engine lacquer. nice and stealthy.

Yes catch can ports are 19mm just the filter dwarfs the size of the can
Although the filter is comically big and people ridicule it, it has given me very large g/s gains and will feed my BT nicely
