Finally got a day off to fit my SFS Oversize TIP that's been laying around for weeks.
..WHAT ... A ...PAIN
Pro tip for anyone about to fit one to their AUQ: Unbolt the gear selector linkage bracket that blocks the hard water pipe. Unbolt the pipe from the block and use this (8mm?) allen bolt to plug the extra inlet closest to the MAF end. Pry on that pipe to move it out of the way enough for you to slide/push/rub/wiggle/beg/shout your enormous new shiny TIP into place. Don't forget to reinstall the gear linkage bracket.
The SFS TIP is slightly shorter than the standard one and the PCV "hockey puch" and recirc valve connections are fairly close together. I had to reverse my Forge 008 in order to get it properly seated. I also had to fit a Jetex open cone since I was about 2cm short of getting the MAF into the stock airbox.
So I went from everything being a stock setup to an oversize TIP, reversed DV and open cone filter.
Its... OMG-LOUD! The induction noise kept me smiling for the entire hour-long test drive.
I'm not happy with the dump sound though, it's too loud for my liking. Have to sort out some kind of spacer or a bit of pipe so I can turn the 008 the right way around again and maybe fit the airbox with an uprated filter.
