Yes well done, everyone has to pay for an mot so its a loss everyone has to make once a year as little over that as possible is a good thing when you have a 4 week old son. I'm sorry but if you want to point out the obvious so will I. End of. :)

Fitted a new Front N/S wheel bearing, heard it all week, check it a couple days ago and was still in a solid state, drove it into the workshop today and it was ready to fall out... Was actually shocked! Also I hate the ABS ring, gets in the way to grind off the inner race on the hub. :p

finally had spare time today and replaced the timing chain tensioner.

started off taking the battery out before doing any work.

unplug all coilpacks, wires and timing belt cover. I made sure where the coilpack and plugs where.

SAM_1016.jpg

then removed all 9 (10m) bolts on rocker cover.

SAM_1017.jpg

once that's done should be able to remove the rocker cover and should look like this

SAM_1020.jpg

remove the black plastic covers

pic2.jpg

underneath the rocker cover my was full of oil

SAM_1022.jpg

gave it a clean and is alot better now

SAM_1024.jpg

removed Cam Sensor, can't remember i think they where still 10m bolts.

pic5.jpg

Used 19m 12 point socket on crank to positon timing marks

SAM_1029.jpg

Mark the timing chain. Clean the cam chain of oil where the timing marks are.
Count out 16 rollers between the timing marks. Recount 16 rollers. Use liquid paper and mark the cams and chain at both the intake and exhaust side.

pic4.jpg

Using your T-30 socket, remove bearing caps 3 and 5 on intake side and then remove all remaining caps and bolts showed in red.

pic3-1.jpg

Now you are able to take the cams and while doing that take out the tensioner, take your time.

once remove will look like this

pic7.jpg

also the red area make sure that's all clean ready for half moon and tensioner and apply sealant on half moon and tensioner.

Here's new part already with tensioner tool installed.

SAM_1035.jpg

now installed with cam all bolts in, didn't take pic while bolting the cam. Make sure you apply sealant where the red arrows are.

pic8.jpg

double check the timing are correct and count 16 on the rollers, i had to do this a few times.

once your happy with that, clean the surface for rocker cover gasket and then install rocker cover, bolt up bolts and install coilpacks, cam sensor etc...

I did change my oil aswel and oil filter, i would advise to do this.

BEFORE STARTING YOUR ENGINE PLEASE LEAVE 30MINS AFTER INSTALLING CAMS.

I did also have another problem with the car running rich and not boosting correctly so check all hose's and made sure all bolted up.

started engine all working fine now, no ticking noise once warmed up, at last.

if you do copy what I've done i do not hold responsible for any problems.

But the downside is the car is still running rich and not boosting correctly.

I think i might have to put the old map sensor on to see if that's the problem.
