I sprinkled some Photoshop-magic on this interior graphic, because it had:
— No AID
— No DSG
— No red stitching
— No custom shift knob
— Cupra steering wheel
— Missing ambient zones (door pocket, door handle, door clasp, et cetera)

It's subtle, but now it's a bit better.

Have a load of tasteful mods delivered today and booked for remap, however I’ve broke my ribs coughing so my 14yo son will be fitting the bits at the weekend for me, I’ll get him to give it a much needed interior clean while he’s at it. Yes I trust him lol.

booked in for remedial spray job after the guy gave it me back scratched up where he painted rear bumper and over sprayed stone chips rather than fill/flatten. Obviously goes without saying I’d rather not send it back to the same guy but he’s not willing to send money back my way.

In my head I plan to spend a daft amount of money on this car after trapesing through the mk3 fourm 👍

Had my driver's side wing mirror replaced as the motor went. Missed the auto folding so much, just had no idea if my car was locked, lol

Took delivery of some new front brakes. Mtec C hook discs with silver protective coating to try and prevent the awful looking corrosion on the centers plus brembo pads. Just need to find the time to fit them now!

Anyone know how to change the “change oil” message that comes up. I assume its part of the service information but I can’t find that anywhere in the menus.

I designed some adjustable DSG paddles about a year ago and have used them ever since. The "click" feedback is the same as the original.

I have mainly used these two designs in a bunch of different colours. The paddles are swappable in a minute or two and can be adjusted depending on hand size (closer or further away from the wheel). They're 3D printed in Polycarbonate (housing) and ABS plastic. Also, the small cupra flag on the wheel was designed and printed by me.

They're attached by a dovetail and secured with an M3 bolt and heated insert.

Just thought I would share.

Haven't done much on the car lately, except install my winter wheels.
And I spent some time reverse engineering some data from the controversial Soundaktor :D

There's a brand/cartype and enginetype limitation inside the firmware, which prevents you from using the soundaktor on other cars. I wanted to eleminate the limitation, so it can be used on other cars as well. So I took a deep dive.

Which gave me some colorful graphics as well, mapping sound levels, frequencies and such:

If you're good at checksum stuff, let me know. I need some inspiration because I can't seem to find the exact checksum mechanism that's being used.

Not today but had the cupra fully serviced including brake fluid and spark plugs. Clean bill of health.
Also had the FRs wheels refurbished (should have done this a year ago!). Both cars are booked in for bodywork touch ups this week and next!

Well my turbo just committed sudoku. Loud pop, no power, rattles when under boost and drank all my oil.
A few weeks before Christmas and a month before I'm about to buy a house, isn't life just wonderful 🤣

Had a set of Bridgestone Weather Control A005 evo tyres fitted to the front to replace the worn out Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tyres (not brilliant by the way, very average-y). Felt way more confident driving up the M6 to work in torrential rain ever since. Very impressed, quiet and extremely grippy - will be interesting to see how long they last.

Fitted my new stereo, sooo much nicer

Yorkshire vag solutions were where I purchased the unit and he's just helped me over WhatsApp for it this evening. Didn't need too many pointers, but cracking service from him

As an added extra, I can change the colour. I'm currently running red on all pages

Looked at changing the spark plugs, without first realising how they were done - imagined having to buy a few tools to complete. Ended up watching videos on YouTube and managed it in less than an hour being careful and taking my time, with no extra tools required.

Plug change
Oil and filter change
Pollen filter change

Hoovered it out, gave interior plastics a spruce up and actually drove it for the first time in two weeks having a blast out (family car, I drive a van during the week).

Went to see how my car was getting on, turbo is off and new one has arrived, intake manifold is off and getting cleaned. No signs any metal made its way into the cylinder.
