Had a wheel off to check properly this morning, the lip is very slightly less than 2 mm, so my pads (OEM seat parts) would overhang 340 mm discs by a small amount

Also just noticed that you have completely different calipers and therefore different sized pads too

I'm postive they won't( happy to be proven wrong though .) , the standard oe callipers on the cupra/R32/TTs/S3 are the same and there's plenty of mk5 gti boys doing this as an upgrade, Iv not read of any problems .

the 5mm difference might not quite be 5mm.@nearly 2kilo per disc it's a good weight saving Like you say Iv got vagbrem carriers and ttrs pots so there not on mine . Plenty reading about this on the mk5gtiforum

Are you sure the discs haven't got a slight chamfer on the outer edge , when I sold my oe brakes the lip was definetly 2.5mm ish

TTS pads are slightly smaller than s3 pads according to specs when pricing them up. Would explain it. It's only about 1mm or so difference in height from memory

Came back to Seat last week, so today I was fitting an RNS (seat media 2.2), and some Pioneer speakers, BT Mic, DAB antenna and GPS.

It was dark by the time I finished and I didn't leave time for many pics. Sorry!

Found out that the thermostats you can get from Euro Car Parts etc aren't the right one. They have the rubber seal around the edge but you need the seal to go in between the thermostat and plastic housing.

Had two new rainsports 3 fitted today, perfect for the pouring rain on the way home... :)
Rain stopped so i cleaned the white goo off and they have :censored: both alloys with the fitting machine.

Just had them refurbed as well [:@]

This sucks, this is why I'm really careful about where I go these days even if it costs more, or I'll just pay for someone I trust to fit... I've had this so many times while getting tyres fitted or tracking done.

They give some retard who doesn't give a **** about your car a impact gun and few tools and they just go to town on your wheels like it's a hammer [:@]

I've just fitted some winters luckily to some old steels I've picked up so they can't really mess them up.

Also fitted some LED number plate lights as one of them blew so seemed like a good excuse... had to get some with resistors for the canbus but seem to work well.

Still toying with the idea of removing my leon badge also... undecided but leaning towards remove.

Finally removed my number plate off the Triple R rear diffuser and put it back on the car. Advertised the diffuser just now which should be in for sale section shortly.

I picked up my Mk2 today! Tomorrow it's going to Harrow (I live in Norwich), so a great chance to stretch its legs. Can't wait! What a car, bit of an upgrade on my'06 1.4 Ibiza bless it haha
