So today I gave the FR a mini detail and minor machine polish today, which it was long overdue.

I started by snow foaming the car using my gilmour foam gun & rinsing with the hose x2

I then washed it with AG shampoo using a Meguires wash mitt and the two bucket method. After that I rinsed the car again and put a second lot of Bilberry wheel cleaner on the wheels, while the Bilberry was doing its thing I dried the rest of the car using a Poorboys waffle weave towel before cleaning the wheels.

This left me with this.

I then clayed the bonnet an set about polishing it using my rotary polisher &
Poorboys SSR polish.

Couldn't resist missing a good photo opportunity.

After I had done the bonnet I thought best to leave the machine polishing as it was getting on to about 5pm, so I gave it a coat of Poorboys black hole (great stuff) and then a coat of Nattys pink paste wax. To finish I used some AG metal polish on the exhaust & put some Megs tyre gel on the tyres.

Everyone I've spoken to say the fronts are a bit of a pain as they are clamped.

Just done fronts pal. Biggest pain was the drop link bolts didn't want to come off, it was just spinning. You can't even get a spanner in behind because it's circular.

So had to get some grips and eventually it came. Apart from that pretty easy job.

How did you tackle the clamped leg then mate? That's the bit that looked a right pita...

Btw, Leigh I've got a fully free day today if you're up for it - just have to change the front pads on mine.

Next time clay your car when it's wet instead of drying first
You should really wash again after claying to remove any marring from the clay bar.

But looks good , 5 pm ideal time to machine polish after the panels have cooled from the sun.

I normally do front wings bonnet bumper , tail gate one weekend
Then flowing week do roof , doors and rear bumper , doesn't feel like you need to rush to finish it.

The sun was drying the car anyway plus I have detailing spray/lube for the clay bar and as I wasnt doing the whole car I wanted it dry before claying the bonnet. It was wiped down after claying, not washed fully.

Ideally I could do with a double garage and give it a good full correction indoors lol.

I work in the motor trade mate so was done on a ramp and used a proper spring clamper to sort it out. We had to leave if attached to the hub aswell because the technician had to start work and it didn't want to come off.

I imagine it would be hard work on the drive.

Wash, clay bar, polish and wax + add my SCN sticker to the rear window:

Excuse the slight dust particles on the window, the FR is totally caked in this after an hour of washing it. Unreal..
