19" !

I put my 19" Cupra R wheels today.
Have 17" on my winter tires (BBS) and it's such a difference in the look.
19 is much more aggressive and the ride and handle is in my opinion just great.
Keep in mind to buy premium tires and not some cheap sh*t.

Here's a pic of mine, they fill the arches nicely I think, but never ever rub ..... so when you get heavy footed all is still ok :)

Opinions......either

A. Have original 17" Tsi Sport alloys resprayed anthracite & have wing mirror caps and chrome front grille sprayed anthracite to match

Or

B. Get some black TTRS alloys and keep the black mirrors/black wrapped grille

What would you do?

Ive been toying with option A as no one else has gone anthracite on the originals as far as I know.

Red/Anthracite instead of Red/black to be different. But I do like the TTRS Alloys

Iv looked at 3 sets of 18s this week but that tyre profile still doesnt make them look much bigger IMO.

17s have many benefits.... Mainly economical benefits.... Lol

Did 28k in previous FR in 2 years on 18's , no problem with tyres. 54k in 15 months in Passat on 17's no problems other than usual wear. R has done 22k in 16 months and has, to date, suffered damage to 4 tyres due to pothole/road damage. Tyres are premium brand (Pirelli's although changing to Goodyear's). Its down to the 35 profile. And the crap roads.
Seriously considering a Golf R or S3 next time as they come on 18's as standard , rather than the 19's on the latest Cupra 280.

I know  T'other half has just pointed out (in the way women do) that the amount I ( considering its her fkn car!!!) have spent on tyres could have paid for the BCS cat back I want :cry:especially now we are 'saving for the wedding':cry::cry:

I also test fitted my new 18" alloys, i've worked out my final E.Ts will be 35 front 30 rear with spacers and they look to be bang on flush to the arches with my tyre sizes and the width of the alloys, just got to modify my spigot rings a lttle bit more to achive the bang on fitment...

Went out to my car and found the rear passenger tyre was flat, tried to pump it up but as soon as it got to 25psi all I could hear was air blowing out, quickly took the wheel off and an a hole in the inner side wall about an inche long.

new tyre time I guess ffs, gonna try to find some goodyear f1s cheap as I need 2 front ones at the same time, my dunlop rts have lasted less then 10k lol
