Well, done a few bits and bobs to the car recently to try to alleviate the boredom until track season comes around again.
Firstly I visited Alex down at AKS Tuning for him to give the car a once over and a sanity check. He changed my oil to Millers Nanodrive CFS 5w40 and fitted a fresh filter. Changed my fuel filter as it was over 5 years old and fitted a new O/S/F drop link as the original was broken. He also fitted an Ultra Racing underbody rear brace which has stiffened the car up amazingly. It's honestly made the car feel like I've always wanted it to, the car responds perfectly to the slightest input and I cannot wait to get it back out on track again to fully test it out!
I apologise for the poor pictures but I only had my phone and the roads are filthy so the brace is too!
It took a bit of adjustment due to the K1 chavvy ASBO exhaust but eventually Alex managed it.
Had the opportunity to use Deep Shine Details Unit for the day so set about tidying up a few bits that had been bugging me for ages.
Firstly I got it up on axle stands and took the front bumper off.
I removed the black plastic trim sections from the grill and gave everything a good clean.
I then masked up and sprayed part of the bumper that you can annoyingly see through the front grill once it's fitted.
Staying with painting I also took this opportunity to spray the other black plastic trim parts gloss black whilst they were removed from the front bumper. For this I used some stuff from a local place that mixed some up for me. It's great stuff, contains a kind of primer in the paint that makes its super hard wearing and bonds to plastic with only very minimal prep required.
Whilst the front bumper was off I also refitted the Triple R front splitter that I removed when I thought it was going to snow loads again.
After refitting the front bumper/trims and wheels I the removed the rear lights to tint them to match the fronts which have been done for ages.
I used Lamin-X on the front lights which is excellent stuff, expensive but great quality. The stuff I used on the rear is a crazily named German product that I cannot for the life of me remember.
This stuff was much harder to use but the results are still good.
Comparison............
All in it was a busy but productive day and I'm happy to have done a few bits to the motor again. I really like the way the gloss black looks on the black trim. It's hard to see in a photo but looks great "in the flesh!"
Now I can't wait for the weather to improve so I can get the Winter wheels & tyres off and the Summer's back on with lovely grippy tyres!

Thanks mate, I did notice that in the picture but it's just mud/grime!Nice work above. Is that a wee bit of rust on the brace trying to poke through the weld is?
