Bought a set of FL bixenon headlights in need of some TLC. They don't come with either ballasts but they do come with bulbs! Once repaired they will be going on eBay!

Also got my H1 bulbs to test out my retrofit lights...will connect them up to the car at the weekend to check and take some photos before sealing them up!

Now that looks like an interesting bit of kit and also needs a video to hear it.
I'm guessing that when on full throttle the valve opens and goes straight out of there instead of flowing down full exhaust and everyone around becoming insanely death lol

wont that mess up the tuning of the car?

i did this

tried this today, and kind of failed,

the strut has to fix into the ball but its on too much of an angle for this to work so i modified the way its works and went the oem solution

i still used the plates, 20x50mm, welded the nut on the back,

how ever i went through the hinge

heres the hole

after that to allow the strut to come down you have to trim this piece

remove it

cut in half

the struts are off an audi a4 13" long, while they hold the bonnet they dont lift it, so i need something stronger which i can have made by a company :)

Fitted a dash cam, been meaning to do it for a while.

I installed an ignition switched 5v supply in the fuse box, ran the cable up behind the A pillar trim, out the top and mounted one of these at the top of the screen on the drivers side,

I would've liked it behind the rear view mirror but the wipers don't clear the screen so it wouldn't be as effective.

Good review here

A bit premature but found some time today so I prepped the car for winter.

- Full deep wash and cleanse
- intense SRP session working out quite a few surface scratches and blemishes,
- 2 layers of FinishKare 1000P sealant/wax ontop of the SRP.
- windows dressed with TW Ice rain repellant

It was a bit mucky...can you tell where I hadn't washed yet?

Did a bit of plastic welding...rather pleased with the result and probably stronger than the original plastic now that its reinforced with wire mesh! These original FL bixenons will be on ebay before I know it!

Will do!, just need some repair tabs for one of the top connectors and one for the bottom and then they are ready to go...say next weekend!

Where do you get the repair tabs from and how much do they cost if you don't mind me asking?

The top connector of mine is damaged and it doesn't sit quite right anymore

Rob how do you go about plastic welding?

Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

You use a flat tipped soldering iron, some fine metal mesh, and some matching plastic to act as the weld. You basically put small sections of the mesh spanning the crack, heat it up so it melts into the plastic and then top up with the new matching plastic. You need a steady hand too otherwise your make a right mess of it!
