Grabbed another couple of hours on the FR today, and detailed the bonnet and front N/S wing.

The Halogen gun is a great tool and really shows up the marks. After using it for th 1st time today, it's a must to ensure you get good results.

Paintwork didn't look too bad and clearly been wax'd by the SEAT dealer before I collected. Clay bar didn't lift anything much off the paint before setting the DA into action.

Not so good though when you shine the halogen on it.......

Very pleased with the results, and the Scoob should be a doddle after refining my technique on a black car ;) :

N/S wing also looked pretty good until Halogen was used, and highlighted this scratch plus another further forward.

next stage...

Booked in for APR HPFP, cam follower and map flash to accomodate this morning! Only rocking a Pipercross panel filter and 200cell sports cat so will likley have limitations top end... but cant wait for the pump to be fitted now! Mid range should be so much fun now!

Next up (all going well today) will likely be the SALK, sounds like a really good mod to minimise the thumps...!

canny wait!!!

Good effort, how much did you pay for the light?

Made it myself from a cheap 12v drill and a 12v 50w halogen.
take the motor and clutch out then wire bulb to the trigger button.
cost less then £20 including £13 for b&q drill.

Fitted 2 new front tyres last night. First time trying the new conti sport 5 so ill see how they go.
While it was in the garage I borrowed some tools and set to work on fitting my new short shift. Took maybe 15 mins, real easy job and it's awsum! 2 inches less movement. 1 less forward and 1 less backward.

Spent an hour in a new GTI E35 a couple of weeks ago, a very nice ride... But I still think the old Mk2 has the looks :)

Good luck car hunting!

The Mk2 is still a good looking car considering how old the design is now. ED35's are rather smart, pricey though. If I had that money it would go on a Golf R. Being realistic I'll probably get an ED30 and run that until I can afford an R. :)

On my brothers Mk2 1.4 TSI.

someone backed into it and made the headlight wobbly.

Removed the bumper, removed the headlight, bonded the broken plastic bracket with epoxy and glass mat, refitted and checked the alignment with my MK2 against a brick wall. I doubt the MOT man will spot the repair to be honest.

He was well chuffed because he would have needed a new headlight for his MOT next month.

A lot of guys have put their splitter to the back edge of the bumper, is it meant to be like that or the front extra bits in line with the foglight sections if you know what i mean

Did an oil/oil filter, fuel filter and spark plug replacement today. All easy and straight forward on the Leon.

its meant to sit far back as possible which make it sit about half an inch back but i didnt like the fact you had that half an inch in the wheel arch just seem like something could catch on it so i leveled it off. sits out a little further but its good enough for me
