sounds like you need a set to be fair! I never realised but it's actually recommended that winter tyres are used when the temps are below 7 degrees.
Yes mate, lots of European Countries actually make it law to have them on below 7 degrees. Want to get some Winter Alloys too so can leave them in the garage when not being used.

**** myself on the way to work in the ice. Cars spinning off everywhere! NEED WINTER TYRES!!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me in January. Sliding down hills and luckily dodged a woman who planted her saxo into a lampost. Im just going to leave mine at home when it snows, not going to risk it again lol

Its normally not the roads that are the problem but the majority or other drivers who haven't got a clue about ice/snow driving. My time in Scotland definately helped me with that tho!:) It's a good job too as I've got a 30 mile commute and so don't have a choice!

 The Assy 2's have a weakness then...
No mate, the Assy 2's were pretty good to be fair to them as I drove past all the other cars who were spinning out. I know how bad it got here last year tho so think I'm going to invest in some dedicated Winter rubber. £££££££!!!:(

it costs you now but means you split mileage 50/50 between winter and summer tyres rather than all on the summer ones so overall no more expensive (unless you buy extra alloys).

Good to know they aren't too bad. We don't get much snow where I am though so I've never bothered with winter tyres as yet. If it ever got bad then there's always my mates 4wd or tractor as an option... :D
