Water getting in rear passenger side light - what should I look out for?

Hi,
I apologise in advance if this has been covered already.
I've seen posts about water getting in to the lights on the boot, but this is about the rear side lights.

I took off the rear light and poured out the water.
Trying to figure out how it got in.

I don't see any obvious cracks on the lense.

Between the lense and the back casing there is a narrow channel.
Should that channel be clear?
There were some areas of the channel blocked.

Thanks

Chances are that the seal on the light is compromised between the outer lens and the body, where the bulb goes.
If you remove it, and put it into water with the bulb hole out of the water and see if you get any leakage, give it a twist to stress the join as when it's installed the light may be stressed.
I've seen on you tube ppl using a heat gun to soften the seal pull the light apart and reseal it with rtv silicone.

thanks for that.
I'll give that a go - when the weather gets a bit better.
