water coming in on drivers footwell

Hi all

yes another post about a water leak lol.

Since i baught the car i had water coming on on the drivers footwall well. I have taken it to seat and they sorted out all the doors on it. Common thing they do.

But i have a funny feeling water is still getting in. it has not rained heavy but it feels a little dump.

i think water might be coming in buy the pedels but im not sure because i cant see any water dripping in or anything. Kinder doing my head in really.

if anyone got any suggestions on where to check/what it could be etc. It would be really helpfull.

also if there are any post about this could you send them my way.

Do a search many posts on this topic

pull the seal from round the door lift carpet next to the peddels to the door if this area is wet, then it is the bulkhead seal,
Again take it back to seat had mine done under warranty.
Infact id lifted all the carpet in the car so i could dry it properly thinking it was a door seal then i noticed water dripping down from behind the fuse box, rang seat and they said just bring it down and they would put my car back together for me lol.
Very good of them lol

Here is a picture of the carpet by the drivers footwell and it shows the damage the water has done.

The water seems to be coming up from that hole and around it.

sounds like the carpet liner got wet due to the leak, not that the leak is under the carpet.

If the carpets wet wet it takes a very long time for them to dry out.

Could be. It just feels damp again since we have had like 2 days of drizzle.

Depending on if its nice on saturday, i'm going to get the hosepipe out and do a bit of water testing around by the window wipers and drainge points etc.

suppose that might help unblock anything that might be forcing water inside. if that is the case.

try taking off the front side panel, there is a drainage hole here and mines on the passenger side was blocked by old leaves and this also done my head in but since i have cleared the leaves no further problems

front side panel? as in the wing? or the panel under the wipers?

After the rain we had on Monday night/Tuesday morning. More water got into the car Got straight on the phone to seat and the car is going back down there Friday for them to have a look at the work they did and find out where the water might be coming in.

thats weird that coz all my footwell's are leaking in mine????its getting to the point now where i really need to get it sorted lol

my real left passenger footwell is a swimming pool...just noticed it now...dont know what it could be...all the seals seem fine...
