I have a Seat Leon CupraR 1.8T (2004 model ) and want to modify the engine.
I have,
Forge FMIC, APR downpipe and sports CAT-Back exhaust system, Forge 007P DV, AEM Cai, 4Bar Regulator,WALBRO Fuel Pump, custom 3” Egsozt Piping, custom 3” Muffler on my car.
But now I am thinking to order a vf22 oor gt28
What will be the difference between gt28 and vf22 do you think??
Are these goods enough for 350HP if not what parts should I buy more??
I will be grateful.
Thanks inadvance..

VF22 or other IHI's will be pushed on reliability for 350bhp, althought VF34 and VF22 are capable of getting their (they are workign very hard to do so)
IHI's are fragile in their bearings, and their hotside exhaust housings do not tolerate high egt's well, before cracking and distorting. The VF34 spool is nicer than an equivalent GT28RS however, but not my that much

GT series turbos are available in many flavours and trims, and GT28RS should manage 350bhp and low 300's torque. the garrett hotsides and bearings seem to live with the higher boost levels better.. more durable, but slight downside of their heavier internals, making them a little less responsve than an IHI.

not so many people offer manifolds for IHI's - maybe a TD06 big 16G is an option for you
more people offer Garrett fitments..

Have you considered modifications to improve traction before going for more power? A 280bhp Stage 2 LCR with LSD & stronger engine mounts that can apply it's power will be faster in any circumstance than 350bhp LCR that can't apply the power to the tarmac.

If you have the above mods then don't forget to change your rods for strengthened ones!

you are in the region of 50/50
torque >300lbft is where you are either lucky or not in rod terms
