Nice to hear it is working for you.
Weird that my system reboots with 0730, since we have exact the same hardware ;-)
Got my16 2.0tdi, 6,5 nav. System sw:0245 hw:h24.... Car came with v1 0430 card. Needs further investigations I think.
That sounds very promising! As I have a lease car I don't want to screw this up and would appreciate any feedback from others trying this. As soon as I get another suitable SD card I'll try it myself to a new card.
Hi All,
Im new here, but seem to have made a boo boo with my sat nav. Ive got a 65 reg Seat Leon FR ST. Copied contents of original SD card to laptop hard drive, dropped the new download onto my original SD card and it didnt work. Im going to try the above as per exciters instructions but Im worried that I may not have fully copied the old sd cards contents.
In the root I have one folder called maps and in this the complete contents.
I have a feeling there was a txt document in root but Ive either lost it/deleted it or whatever. Can anyone confirm if its just the maps folder I need or is there something else Im missing?
well, your chances are not very hopeful. you got no choice but to try to see for yourself i'm afraid. its not been confirmed exactly what it is that the Seat audio system uses to "pair" the card with the car. tests have included name of card, contents, etc but it still doesn't seem to care. The obvious choice is the unique serial number of the card, but if you remove the files and replace them, as what you have done, it still doesn't work so it must be more than just that.
I've no idea how or why this information has not been leaked by the headunit manufacturer or someone at any number of the VAG related companies.
I thought I'd share my results for anyone interested.
First off the car details to help people decide if this will work for them;
UK 65 Plate (MY16) Leon ST 2.0 TDI FR Tech Pack
with MIB2 Media System Plus Navi (not High), hardware H24, firmware 0245 nav DB 6PO, V430 maps on what appears to be a SEAT badged Lexar 16GB SD card.
I downloaded the full EU1 0730 maps from here:
h*t*t*p://w*w*w.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/-/-/-/View-Promo?cwt=application/ApplicationFrame_campaign_light&Page=SEAT_Leon_Standard_2&NewDomainName=Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site&HideCrumb=true
I backed up and deleted the map files from my original V430 card and extracted the contents of the 0730 download to the root of the original SD card and tried it in the car.
As expected this did not work as, being in the UK, I do not have map care.
I then followed exciter's suggestion and replaced the 0730 maps/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS with the original file from my V430 card.
This appears to work in the car. I've only run it for around ten minutes, inputting multiple destinations in a variety of different ways. So far it has worked without any restarts or other issues. It is noticeably quicker at route calculation and I will post an update after I've used it for a while or if I run into any issues.
I also tried the above steps using a Sandisk 32GB SD card I had lying around. This was not recognised at all by the car, though I did not try changing the cards CID as suggested by exciter.
Hopefully that helps some folks in the UK. It's quite hard reading this thread to find out which solutions work for what hardware/software/country combinations.

So forgive me for being thick, but are we now able to upgrade MIB2 sat navs to the latest maps using this method?
I have had my brand new MY16 since October 2017, and think my SD card is V1, so not sure if an update is available yet...
It arrived today yea. My issue is if I open it up, try it and it ends up not working it will be worthless. I can send it back and get a refund aslong as its unopened. Which is why I'm asking on here so hopefully someone can confirm yay or nay.Have you got the new card? Just try it in your car to check compatibility.
