If you were'n't stopped and spoken to by the Police at the time than you are extremely unlikely to hear anything more about this. Video evidence from an in car camera can only be used as a back up to evidence from an Officer. The video camera itself is not a Home Office approved device in the same way as a Gatso or laser camera, so cannot be relied on to to prove speeding as the sole evidence in the case, and ofitself it cannot be used to prove careless driving.

They have your reg number but cannot prove identity of the driver from a foward facing in car video. For undertaking the relevant charge would usually be careless or inconsiderate driving. For that the Police must issue a NOTICE OF INTENDED PROSECUTION Under schedule 1 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 or summons fro the offence within 14 days of the offence occurring.

In all the circumstances the reality is that the cops wanted to give you a fright , but either were being called to something more important or when they lost you decided they couldn't be bothered.

Sit tight but I strongly suspect YOUR FRIEND'S? been lucky this time.:) ;)

Seeing that you may be in blue does the above apply the the BIG ROUNDERBOUT known has the M25!!!!

Blue? No! Pinstripes yes...... the clue is in my forum name.

Oldoiler the actual law is basically the same on the M25 as for anywhere else but as we all know it's just one big queue half the time.
Undertaking a slower moving queue in heavy traffic will not get you nicked so long as you're careful.
In fact on the variable speed limit bit you're not meant to be making uneccessary lane changes at all, when the lower variable limits are in force.i.e. the signs are illuminated. There are some special Motorway regs that apply to those sections (also on the M42 near the NEC now)

The biggest problem is not cops but whether or not the person you're undertaking understands the rules.

Weave in and out with your foot down, or cut people up whilst undertaking and you are asking to be pulled over if spotted by a cop car or on the gantry CCTV systems. (eventually you get to star on Police Camera Action! )

if i do undertake anybody, i never pull back in, its either as im coming off at the approaching junction with hatched lines, that lane is moving slower in traffic or some similar reason,

One thing that does annoy me, is that whenever theres a police car people shlow right down and are frightened to overtake them, In my eyes, if im sitting in his blind spot, id rather speed up a little to get past safely than not do an overtaking manouver.
