try and send it back. the badger 5 tip makes a massive gain over the forge on :)

I would but unfortunately I need to use the car for work and it has already been off the road for a week awaiting a new tip.

How much more does Bill's one cost again?

Just fitted the Forge tip expecting a fully fit car....and the noise is still there! Major loss in power, loud 007p and strange turbo sound  new turbo time I think

Did you check the shaft for play? Take the TIP off the turbo and see if there's any side to side, up and down or in and out movement in the compressor (intake) wheel. There should be none.

Is the car using much oil?

When I took the old TIP off I checked the shaft for play, there was very slight movement in the shaft when wiggling left/right and up/down. Should there be absolutely zero play in the shaft?

Oil is lower than it was yes but I'm not sure how much it has been using as I haven't really driven the car since the noise started

Top the oil back up and check it every few days or so.

As far as I know there should be no more than a tiny amount of play, someone who knows these things better will hopefully clarify.

Have you checked your N75 valve and N249 valves have their cables attached correctly?

I will top up the oil tonight when I get some more.

As for the N75 and N249 I have no idea where they are located but I will have a quick look at cables/pipes etc just now

N75 is the valve that sits on the TIP, one of the hoses coming off the charge pipe leads into it

N249 is the one on top of the engine block.

Both of these have various rubber hoses which can split and have electric cables which should be checked to see they're attached securely.

Is this actually true, How much in terms of power?

I have a forge one and seemed a 'bit' better than stock, not life changing performance mods IMO..

Could a faulty N249 or N75 actually cause this sound to happen? I checked all wires pipes and everything seems fine

Here is a pic I took when replacing the TIP:

Is it me, or do some of the blades look deformed?

Sorry about the poor image quality aswell, it was taken on a mobile.

Those blades are mullard! I have a slight whistle noise when at part throttle at about 2k rpm but when turbo spools up it goes away and boast seems to be prittie good no loss in power hope mum isn't onnits way out as I just can't afford a new turbo!
