Thanks for the guide,

The problem I am having is that the 2.0 S engine seems to so rare that I am having trouble finding any hints/tips on it. I can't find any particularly good Golf websites which help.

The tips I have had so far have been great! Is the engine in the 2.0 S exactly the same as the Golf GTI 8V?

basically yes will be different code i think but parts should be interchangerble like air filter and things and the cat back exhausts should also be the same for the mk4 fr and cupra turbo cars so you could use on listed for thoses cars!

Cool,

So anything listed for mk4 fr and cupra turbos should fit mine? If that's true that gives me a lot more options. I am having real trouble finding a performance exhaust the only one specific to my car is a Magnex one rrp 380 quid!

Exhaust wise maybe, but other engine mods wont be the same im afriad.

How do you want your car to perform? Personally from that engine, id be happy with 130bhp and it to handle great, then you can carry alot more speed than say the 130bhp diesel and therefore be quicker!

Of course unless they have a remap :p But hey... always going to go someone faster!

only cat back though for listed fr and cupra as downpipe and that will be different
but back boxes alone should be the same

My aim is to get my car to 130bhp spending a reasonable amount of money. Do you think that the right induction kit, full exhaust system might get me to that bhp? If so what particular equipment do I need? Next I can work on the handling and brakes. What I really need to know is an induction kit what works what do you think of the dynatwist one mentioned earlier. Badger 5 makes so big claims!

this unit is the same as in you avatar?
then its the same as the vw beetle which has the inlet manifold on the front end(mk2's had it at the back),which means a set of throttle bodies will fit really well and give good breathing,a nice head job and a cam will see some pretty all round gains.this is going to cost you a bomb, same as a super or turbo charger kit, that is available.if money is no object.

One would assume... being in the MK4 section

Didnt make a 2.0 unit the MK1 Leon, so assuming he has a MK2 then the S reference no longer makes sense, unless it means Sport?!

Confuddled also

Sorry guys my fault I have a 2.0 S Seat IBIZA not a leon. Interesting point about the throttle bodies as badger 5 had some sets available and claim a huge gain on n/a engines which would be perfect whilst having 30+ mpg. Still waiting for a price at the mo. Would like to take my car to the 130bhp at the moment just to smoke a few 130 tdis? What do I need to do to make it possible?

Not sure u'd 'smoke' 'um matey, remember you might have the same bhp, but they will have 100lb/ft more give or take!

not anouther thread turning into diesel vs petrol
if the throttle body apparantly gives you bigger gains on your 2.0 S than the remap go for it put a exhaust and induction kit on there aswell then should keep you entertained for a while

you'd need four "induction "kits on throttle bodies.most folk just fit a sponge filter over the end of the trumpets.

id say remapped v remapped t spark! only just lol! but not sure if a 130bhp 2.0 8v will beat the fr tdi they are quick but getting the 8v to 130 will make it a good car they are slightly underpower for the weight of the mk4 so 130bhp will be a good figure
