2014 1.4 Seat Ibiza FR ACT - EPC/Engine light

Hi all - New to the forum so hello firstly.

I have problem with my 2014 1.4 Seat Ibiza SC ACT. The EPC light comes on and the engine light and the car loses power, when I then accelerate it just sputters along. I have no ideas at this stage what this could be pointing to and I would like some advice if anyone knows the first course of action should be for this.

Do I need to somehow get some fault codes, how do I get these and what do I need.

Any help is greatly appreciated indeed.

If both lights come on, from the issues I had with my car (1.2 tsi seat Ibiza fr 6J), it can be down to the ecu being faulty.
I'm definitely not trying to scare you as it isn't a massive problem but can be a bit pricey if it is down to that.

I would say your best first step is to get someone to read the codes for you as the good sign is that there will be codes coming up. A local garage should be able to do this for you quickly and without any pay, or you can buy yourself a diagnostics machine (eg OBD 2 scanner) which isn't too pricey and will allow you to read the code yourself by plugging it in under steering wheel.

Just make sure the one you buy fits your car's port.
