Things I have discovered about the car.

Only just realised today (and by accident) that if you press and hold the view button down when you have the map set on the dash, it puts it into a "full screen" map on the dash.

This is cool, tried it today. If you hold down the view button, it does something slightly different all TFT display modes. For example, with the rev and speedo display, it removes the information from the two little inner circles and makes the needles larger.

I can only get a full size map in one of the display modes, but still looks cool (shame it doesn’t show the full Apple map).

It almost acts like a rev counter with the light growing from the centre of the dash out and around as you apply throttle.
I have a VZ2 310 and it doesn’t do that on mine. It’s just a static red light across all the LED strips. Maybe it’s just a hybrid thing?

U need to select the driving mode selecter or something in the light colour menu.

I’ve gone into the background lighting menu and chosen drive mode. The colour changes when I change drive modes, but it doesn’t change intensity when I accelerate in CUPRA mode. That’s my point. Is there anything else selected in the background lighting set up?

From memory when you select Cupra in the LED drive mode there is a configuration wheel to set an active mode
This is what you get :)

Cheers pal. I’ll have another look. I only have the car on a three year lease, so doubt I’ll get to find all the menus within menus and screen within sub menus before the car goes back 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏼

Lol is the left nearer the right?
I’m going outside with a bloody tape measure in a minute to check

Finally could be bothered to check this and yes, the left hand side of the wheel is a centimetre further away than the right.
But, “they’re all like that Sir” apparently.
Are they?
Haven’t been in another one to check so if someone could check theirs in the meantime i’d be most grateful.

What’s your reference point? Could 1cm be within margin of error?

Edge of steering wheel to centre of seat.
I measure and draw things for a living, I don’t make errors with a tape measure. Could be a couple of mm either way but it also “feels” like 10mm.
I’m one of those people who can spot mm out of level pictures in other peoples houses and have to fight the urge to straighten them.
I’m not imagining it, I got a friend who has a Q5 to sit in my car and he was like, wow, that’s weird. It is. Dealer has said they’re all like that so surprised nobody else has noticed.

Fair enough, and not to patronise you but the centre of the seat is definitely bang in line with the centre of the steering wheel (so as to be a sound reference?).

Anyway, you’ve made me curious enough to measure mine.

So…….I’m giving up. I had “active” highlighted already so switched it off and then back on again but still no “dynamic LED light show” Not sure why, but hey, I’m not gonna miss what I’ve never had. Thanks for the help as always on this thread. 👍🏼✌🏼

Exactly the same for me. “Active” appears to do nothing, On or Off…

No offence or anything taken mate, if it’s off you’ll feel it. I wasn’t having a pop at you either lol
Thanks for checking

I have found the voice activation is getting better. Understands stuff like;
Set temperature to 21degrees.
Set passenger temperature to 21degrees.
Heated seats on/off.
Radio FM/DAB (station of your choice).
Volume up/down.
NAV/radio/media/phone.
Nav destinations etc (announce/unannounce directions).
The usual stuff -warm feet/hands- cool feet/hands.
I’m hot/cold.

Regarding heater controls I have not touched them now for two weeks as I just use the voice command and it works great.
As the system is getting better I’m going to experiment with a few more commands and see what happens.

I must admit I’ve never used them but will start to now given your pointers above .

The only time I use the voice activation button is when I want to invoke Siri and ask her a question (Apple CarPlay connected).

Ps - the de-mist windscreen option works really well, better than putting the blower on full. Best I’ve seen in a car.

Defog windscreen, activated by the windscreen symbol on climate control menu, or on the light control touch panel to the right (RHD) of the steering wheel.

I think just ramps up the blower speed as the engine gets warmer - it’s nothing particularly special.
