Things I have discovered about the car.

There might be a way to stop Formentor braking when reversing. I checked settings when reversing and found a few options there and switched them off.

I had Manoeuvre braking switched on. Can't test it unfortunately, don't have any soft things or plants I can reverse into.

I have a question on manouvre braking. If you're using the automatic parking system (I've used it twice so far and still find it simultaneously fascinating and scary! :)) does the manouvre braking work with the autopark by interceding to stop you hitting the car behind you in the parking slot?

I don’t know the answer but suspect the car employs all safety systems when using its park function, regardless of how the user set them.

Should have written this on day one of ownership but this is stooopid, yet another prod of screen required being as the top row of stations are hidden

You can set up the right hand buttons on the steering wheel to scroll through your favourite stations so no need to go into that menu

Just pull it down with your finger? Not a big deal. The reason it does that is because the top line is for radio stations and the bottom line is for media apps. If you had any media it would show there.

You two must be easily pleased then or maybe I’m just picky lol
Personally, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want a touch screen operated system to work nicely. Even Apple can manage it and so can a lot of techie people I know who write apps etc. Why design part of a system where half the buttons are covered up? It’s all very well having poncy pictures of your car on screen but when the basic stuff is naff it’s all a bit pointless.
If the bit that says “radio and media favourites” was at the bottom, it wouldn’t be an issue, and one less “press”.
All imho of course:)

I recently discovered how to see full info about songs playing on the radio. Not only you have to swipe to the playing info, but also press on the title. Only then you will see details. Why can't it be shown on the main card like in other cars. Two clicks on the shaking screen while driving.

I probably have to take a photo to explain it better.

That would be too easy, why have one click when you can have a super sub menu that requires more “eyes off road” attention?
I’d like a “back” button.
Probably is one but that means I’d have to read the manual and if you have to do that, it’s too complicated. Probably why I have an iPhone and not some piece of android junk. Intuitive interface is where it’s at :)
iPhone - just works
Android - too geeky, too complicated (for me anyway)

If you have an iPhone, have you connected it to Carplay? That works far better than the native apps.

Is it worth seeing if you can replace the head unit with a Blaupunkt and a cassette player?

The amusing thing here is that Android has a dedicated back button and iPhones don't :D

Here are the photos of what I meant with music details when listening to the radio.

Default info card, which you have to pull out from right side ( it took me some times to discover it at the beginning).

And if you press on radio name or song info which is not fully visible, you will see full info. So instead of showing this straight away, you have screen with radio icon taking half of it and obstructing full info what's playing. Why do I need this big, empty icon in a first place?

Some other unrelated things I discovered.

Options in Front Assist.
Not sure what's the point of having ability to switch off below two, when they come back next time you restart the car. It's just easier to switch off Front Assist everytime, instead of chaning these options. I switch it off anyway, but recently just checked what's there and what you can change, only to discover it doesn't matter, because they come back at every restart.
