Some things happening at the mo with the car I thought I'd update, not all fun tbh but I ordered one of these from awesome gti as it was cheaper, carrying on the mission to replace as many oem hoses as possible and make the car airtight:

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190202&product=FM225SH

Also ordered DK one and a service kit for his DV while I was at it.I also ordered 3m of forge 4mm vacuum hosing to re do my gauge hoses and replace the weak vacuum hose that's on it now. Going to do this at the weekend I think as it should all arrive later in the week.

Other news I have a faulty abs brake pressure sensor aswell so the car will go off to my mates next week to get that done, more expense for parts failing. Oh and my MAF has died I'm 99% sure so I ordered a new one from GSF today which should be here tomorrow, so I'll fit it tomorrow night, another 80 odd quid gone this car needs to behave as it's had a crap year so far tbh with things going wrong.

Erm last thing so my ruined speedline turini is on my car at the moment - don't think I said why but the new speedline I bought had an issue with the centre cap not fitting which isn't good enough so that replacement wheel is now back with rimstyle and I got an update today that it might be back with me all fixed by the weekend so things are looking up. I've also got a nasty pirelli on my damage speedline on the car at the moment and it feels jank compared to the Vreds so I'll get the Vred in the garage back on soon hopefully.

Just going to pay for anything broken at the moment and hopefully it'll behave for a while...

Service time in june/july probably. Oil plugs filters and brake fluid regular yearly change but bar that I don't want to spend much more on it now.

I keep looking at Mk7 Golf GTD's in dark gunmetal they look lovely. Probably get something derv next like that or an A3.

Looks like mine is staying with me, for now at least. Have to much money invested in her now and to low a resale value.

Will put an update on my thread with all my issues now. Starting to show the age now :(

That's how I feel about mine. Would only break it to get rid now tbh mate.

They are showing their age but we can keep them pretty sweet. I'd still love to keep mine and up the power one day with a bigger turbo set up maybe.

Hopefully once this round of maintenance is complete, it'll be plain sailing from there on in Tom. Nice to hear that you have plans longer term. I just hope you get to see them out rather than breaking for a deposit/family wagon. I accept that for me, a nice power upgrade will be a few years away, but that will be my ultimate crossroad. I hope it's a long term keeper, hence why all the future proofing is being done at this stage of its life. Emotional ties to a car are hard to overcome, but it's possible.... As long as its replaced with something that's in a different league.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks you'll have faultless driving and your trust in it will return :)

Yeah hopefully mate. I really want to keep it and take it off the road for a while once a house is bought and TFSI it maybe... could even be the MK3 engine by the time I get it done! Lol.

I hope you never get rid of yours as it's stunningly OCD and I still need to see it!

Delivery day today. I'm off to DK's Saturday morning to drop off his goodies and we'll get it all fitted.

I think I need to spend more time on the car to get more love back! I'll be booking in the abs pressure sensor for next week sometime to get that replaced and get her sorted! I'll be on the hunt for three door locking modules too and will be taking them apart at some point to fix them.. Will also hopefully get my Speedline turini back soon all sorted! The joys....

Are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure it's the same locking unit that's used across loads of the VAG platform? Golf, Passat, Lupo, Beetle, Leon, Arosa, Toledo and Octavias according to the compatibility list here (scroll right down)

I'm sure mine was listed as one for a golf/passat, same shape, works fine..

I think I'll try eBay for door modules but in a while as I have other issues to sort before then.

Went round to DK's today and we had a few hours doing little jobs on the cars, we each had a forge servo hose to fit which was done and did some engine bay maintenance on the cars to keep them airtight. I also noticed one of my injectors looks like it's leaking so while my abs pressure sensor is getting done I'll add that in for fixing.

I also plumbed in all my new forge vac pipe for my boost gauge setup and I'm happy with it now as it's much stronger stuff so it shouldn't split again. We also serviced our DV's while it was convenient. I really need to clean the engine bay it's a state so it may get done tomorrow...

That's what he told me mate. I did think it was strange as they share parts. Think I'll get AMD to do mine when I'm ready sound like a proper mission.

Change of air filter for the car so I've bought an ITG Maxogen filter which fits perfectly in my setup. Really happy with it and it's of great quality which you expect from ITG. Went for a quick blast and it feels good and makes a nice noise :p

Running this setup with the aluminium spun neck on the ITG means I don't need the ally joiner anymore I had to extend the Pipercross near to the wing. Prefer the new setup and in all things 'airflow' it should be a slightly smoother route for the intake air than before. Pics:

That's all for now. Oh and my manifold cover plate is missing because it's with DK for some work ;)
