Stained headlining

Noticed that there are brown rust coloured stains in the headlining driver side and under sun visor both sides, on the recently purchased 03 reg Leon 110se. Could this be from water penetration? Anyone had water penetrating the roof lining and how would it get in there?

has it got a sunroof ? if it has they are not fully waterproof by design and have drainholes run down the 4 pillars

there are pipes joining in the locations you mentioned and without proper care they block up/split/overflow

hopefully it's just a blockage from leaves and stuff and not rust

no sunroof fitted

car does not have a sunroof so water coming in is a bit of a mystery.

condensation maybe on the inside of the roof ?

not had/noticed wet carpet or anything recently from the dreaded door seals ?

mega common, dont worry. i had mine stripped off and checked but it wasnt rust. according to seat they just made a batch using dodgy material. some mk4 golfs have it too

lol - I have a small patch like that by my drivers side visor too - Been there since the day I bought it... often wondered how it got there.... Never got worse though.
