Rear washing jet not working

On recent MOT they've noticed that the rear washing jet doesn't work and suggested replacing the nozzle.
I did that (10 seconds job, really) but the water still doesn't flow.
The motor can be heard whining, so I guess it is operating. The front washers work fine.

There is no water escaping in the boot or under the car and mechanic told me that there is a possibility that the pipe somehow got jammed in the rear trim.

How do I remove the rear hatch trim to check?

Interestingly I have exactly the same problem, but I've never got round to fixing it. The pump works fine - water flows from it freely; like you I've changed the nozzle but that made no difference. I haven't got round to looking into it further.

I expect the trim is held on by a combination of push clips and screws, probably screws near the grab handle. Have a look here:

Spoke yesterday with SEAT and they advised to take it to the dealership to diagnose and rectify the issue.
My car is on All-In plan so they've said that the diagnostics will be covered by SEAT anyway.
Scheduled a visit to them on 11th of April, will report on the outcome.

Update: took the car to SEAT, they've ran a diagnostics and told me that they need to replace the pump and wiring.
Apparently, on some Toledos there is a secondary pump next to rear wiper mechanism and that has seized (never knew there is such thing as a secondary pump!)
Cost of parts - around 300 quid. Plus labour at 115ph.
No charge to me - my car is under All-In warranty, so VW UK would have to cough up for parts and labour (they've already authorised it).
Rebooked in three weeks (they didn't have parts in stock), so hopefully it'll all be sorted then.

Hi, thanks for the update, that's really interesting.

I don't think there is such a thing as a secondary pump, though I'm happy to learn! I've had a good look at Catcar and there isn't a secondary pump listed - just the main pump which has outlets for the front and rear washers. I know that sometimes VW systems describe things in an odd way, e.g. a clutch is a "coupling", so maybe it's to do with our pumps having 2 outlets - a primary and a secondary?

Perhaps you could get the part number when the work is done and post it here please? That would be really useful.

Do you know what the wiring problem is? Maybe a broken wire where it goes from the body to the hatch?

Hope they sort it out for you, fingers crossed.

I actually did question them about the wiring - according to them, they have to get it replaced every time the pump is changed as there could be a corrosion, which may lead to remedial work in the future.
As to secondary pump, they were adamant that it is sitting in the same area where the rear wiper's motor is. It sounds strange to me as well, as I've never seen anything like that before.

TBH, if someone told me this story while asking me for a payment, I would think they were taking the proverbial.
But since this is VWFS problem, I can't care less.
As to part numbers, once I get the worksheet (I have to sign it so that VWFS will pay them) I'll list the p/n here.

I've had the connection just drop off in Fiats years ago you saw the water streaming out but nowadays such pipes are hidden in the panels. One was at the back, the other in the engine body. Motor running no water. Fairly common in those days. You also get sediment and sludge in wash water if you put the wrong stuff in... not that you would. That jams inside the propellor. Had some old bottles inherented from my brother which he'd bought from Lidl / Aldi etc with sludge forming before it was used. Read about it and thought yep.

Suspect you will be getting completely new parts since that's how they work, charged up to warranty.
