Looks like the engine ****ed. Lost all diesel out of the bores over night again.

Hes measureing the bores to check the wear and to see if it is ok tho. Will be the final step until i decide what to do.

But i'm thinking as it will need a rebore i might as well go for forged pistons and rods and go to town on it instead of buying a new car next year.

Or, do i strip the ****er and sell everything i got?

Or can i put in standard parts after a rebore for cheaper?

****in nightmare.

A brand new one would be loads of money and a second hand one could see me in the same position as i'm in now 12 months down the line.

Not sure, finding one for decent money is a nightmare.

I could probably do oversized rods and pistons for less. I know i can get scat rods and wiseco pistons for 450 delivered.

I have a box and diff already, just need to add a clutch.

I could go stage 1, repair internals with forged goodies along with fitting the clutch and box/diff.

Stage 2 fit the turbo etc.. and get it mapped.

Or am i wasting my money? Should i just return to standard with new stuff?

If it was me, it would all hinge on whether I was going to get rid of it in the near future. If not bothered then go to town on it. Internals and BT. GT28RS or now even better the Eliminator equivalent like Cupra_Matt.

It's going to be a fair bit whichever route you take, might be worth pricing up standard and uprated replacements to see the difference between the two.

Anyway, back luck mate. Don't hear of this very often..

Cheers for that daz.

I think the standard v uprated price difference will be interesting.

My plan was to get rid of it next year tho, but if i went BT i'd keep hold of it for a few more years.

TBH, i think i'd be happy with the GTRS as i wouldnt need a crazy clutch and it wouldnt put a massive strain on the rest of the stuff like an even bigger turbo would.
