SOS Error

Mamy Leona z tegorocznej kompilacji z 1803 i problem SOS nadal istnieje.

Mk4 Leon FR (2020) back into workshop today to sort out the ongoing issue. Software reinstalled (version 1672 again) & within an hour of collecting it the same problem still persists. Been told latest releases were for Cupra/Formentor range only, they’re still waiting for release for FR, but no e.t.a. Not impressed.

Official TPI still has not been released for 1810. Waste of time in service they won't fix it!

I haven't find any TPI for 1810 software yet so don't believe he has this update
Hi @KoNG have you had an update yet?

I'm in bad situation this week. Took my 2020 Leon eHybrid FR to get a solution to the SOS/Audio and Nav update along with a minor service.

Dealer BRICKED my telemaics unit and told me to wait to Feb 2nd!!! WTF!! .... when they may get a new ECU.
The dealer asked for a courtesy car from SEAT but denied, and also told me the car was "undriveable" and marked "offf the road".

So no car for 2 weeks ... arrgghhh.

Trying to negotiate for delear to patch out the telematics unit, so at least I can use my car in the meantime.

Does anyone know WHEN we may see the 1810 version available for all dealers to update existing cars?? Mine had 1780 before taking to dealers ..

That’s worrying mine goes in on the 31st for the same problem and a lot more. My car is a company car so at least will get a hire car

@Markessex hope your dealer is a little more switched on than mine. Don't think the diag technician has seen the SOS issue before.
I honestly thought they knew about the issue as they kept phoning me after each SOS fault to book the car in. I kept saying no as I'd put up with it until the service when I thought I'd get new Nav software too ..

So after 2 days discussion I got the car back but no telematics at all, so infotainment almost all locked out. No audio, Nav or apps. Argghh ...

Gonna try OBD11 to see if I can "patch" the user lockout ..

No update at all. I know SEAT also testing 1890 software for 17XX unit. Still waiting for update in Erwin with TPI for 16xx. I have also considered to take this to Ombudsman and ask for financial compensation as I've been driving with this error long enough

@tekfreak I would be gutted and asked for curtesy car as this is clearly dealer faults! Maybe you be lucky to have already unit with 17xx from factory

Is that a published fix or just a nose around.
@Tell yeah, correct. Just to see if I can find something to allow me use a few more functions .. while the dealer "sits on their hands" waiting for a new ECU for me. There must be something simple to disable the crappy "user switching" function (must be the worst feature I've ever had the displeasure to have come across). I had a Passat B8 GTE before the Leon, and never had many issues with SW as I have with the VW ID3 based :poop:

TBH I've not messed much with OBD11 on my MK4 (SFD locked) as I wasn't too hopefull about being able to change anything. However as I have PRO, I think I can unlock stuff. Just not had chance to try yet ..

@KoNG The fact that VW group know exactly what this error is all about, but hide behind their "dumb dealers" is a real disgrace. SEAT seem to be the last to get updates and fixes, Audi->VW->Skoda----->SEAT is clearly the priority order. All have had the same issue on various models, but so few of our vehicles have telematics, we are just lef to the back of the queue.

As for the courtesy car, yes I asked many times, but dealer insistent they could not supply one (as too many new deliveries are delayed) .. the only choice I had was a "blocked" UI and the car back on my drive .. or no car at all.

.. I guess the only luck I do have is that my current Nav is 1780 .. so I will keep pushing for 1810/90 (which ever is correct for my H56 hardware).

Have successfully rejected mine, went back last week.
Glad to see the back of it.
Apparently the sos error was fixed, unfortunately none of the others were and I didn’t keep it long enough to check whether it was or not.
The most expensive car/mile I’ve ever owned. So disappointed.

I had a Skoda Octavia hybrid for 4 months before I got my Leon and it had almost exactly the same problem’s, they had the car for 3 days to fix the SOS problem but never cured it.
The only thing’s I liked better with the Skoda was the physical buttons and had a lot less road noise even on bigger wheels

My advice to you is to ask for the financial compensation they can do better if push harder. Their fault so I would hire the car at my expense and let them pay for it later they can hire a car elsewhere don't have to provide their own if not have one. I would call the seat customer at first and secondly, I would ask for written down confirmation the update failed and jammed the unit. This would be proof for you of any court or ombudsman case.

I'm honestly fed up with SEAT UK I never saw something run so badly like this franchise! Customer should know their rights.

Well a small update. The dealer called me on Monday and told me they "have a new telematics ECU" arrived early as SEAT expedited my case?!? Really??
Anyway took it in and got back today with all user profiles deleted .. but also an upgrade on my Nav ECU .. went from 1780 -> 1803. Not 1890 I was hoping for.
I bet the TPI gets released next week (knowing my luck)

At the moment not driven, so have no idea if the SOS fault is still there or has been sorted. Anyway from happening a few times a week, it should be easy to see if they made a difference (or not). I'll still be chasing SEAT customer service for some additional months of SEATconnect for the dismal use we've had from it.

I mean who's going to pay £125pa for this :poop: when the esim is always active and the odd pre-conditioning message actually costs them nothing!!
Don't forget they will be downloading data from your car in the background anyway .. so that £125 basically covers VAG to suck data out of your cars.

Just got mine back after it’s service and software update , it’s gone from 1780 - 1803 and Navigation from 21.9 - 21.11
Not the big update I was looking for but seems a lot better, drove for an hour and no sos errors and it actually knows where I live now. Will check later to see if it’s held it’s setting’s for the ambient lights and Navigation favourite’s.
I was told this was the latest software available and they had no news of the big update yet.

Well that lasted 5 hours driving before SOS error came back 😡😡, the only thing that it seems to have done is the ambient light settings stay set now and the Navigation works properly well until SOS error anyway.
I contacted the garage and they said they would get back to me when they have an answer, I am not holding my breath on that.

@Markessex that's a downer. I had the SEAT customer service agent call me yesterday. I explained the dealer had done an update, but could not confirm the SOS error fix has worked. I have a feeling we'll see them again, but perhaps less frequently?

I'm still hoping for a reply on the request for reinstatement of SEATconnect .. :D
