Time for some 1/4 action, on Saturday the 2nd Oct, me and a few friends went to a RWYB at shakespeare raceway! First time I have ever done 1/4 mile and I really enjoyed it was a great day.

I ran the car as I would everday, had 3/4 tank of fuel, normal pressures etc etc

My personal best was 12.9 @ 111mph

Which i was more than happy with as that was my first run of the day, but they seemed to get worse :D ah well i can work from this

Other times were:

13.2 @ 110mph
13.3 @ 110mph
13.1 @ 110mph

I seem to be consistent with the terminal speeds, i just need to get better at the launches :)

Few of the cars that went:

Little update:

Finally bought new lower ball joints and rose jointed track rod ends so i can invert them as monty suffers with bump steer :(

My broken ball joint next to the uniball ball joint (which are rebuild able + rose jointed)

P1010001-43.jpg

After talking to compbrake about what i used the car for and Harry Hockley versions they said i could use there "Rally Version" making it still a fair bit cheaper than HH version

As you can see it has the extra thread + nut

Been looking into custom exhaust in 3" with Manderal bends for a while and have been getting quotes from various places! Spoke to a few companies at autosport show in January and one company that spent time explaining my best options was Birchills Automotive Exhaust Products but they only supply parts :( I asked for a local dealers and they said "longlife oxford" are the best and the fabrication is second to none unlike other longlife dealers :( So a phone call to Rob at longlife, which he spent alot of time again saying what would work for me :) Then a nice quote over the phone lmao and Monty was then pre booked in and talk a little more in detail.....

Dropped Monty off 2 weeks ago (I said keep it till the end of the month) and I picked him up today..... All I can say is what great fabrication truly epic :) Rob kept me upto date every couple of days.

So the end result was a modified downpipe (as the original 3" downpipe was really low) , complete system in 3" with 1 custom centre box and custom backbox = alot quieter system.... roll on track days

Some really crap quality photos from phone, will upload some better ones soon!

New Tail pipe, same size but outward rolled

Well been doing abit to him over the weekend and will continue tomorrow :) Heres what I got done :)

First off bag him up :)

9s6owi.jpg

Reason was he was showing a small sign off rust coming back from under the bonnet stay mount on the OSF shocker top mount, which was treated before the respray but as you all know if its under a bracket its hard to get at... So off it came bonnet lifters will be fitted instead!!! Drilled the bracket off and treated rust and etched then primed...
